The treatment of @padilla.senate.gov while he was conducting Congressional oversight – one of the many responsibilities that millions of Californians elected him to fulfill - is a disgusting abuse of power and an assault on our democracy.
Congratulations to our #MD05 students who have received appointments to a U.S. Service Academy this year.
These students embody the character we expect from our men and women in uniform, and I wish them the best of luck in their future military careers.

I am deeply saddened by the Air India flight crash that occurred earlier today and resulted in over 200 lives lost.
Thank you to the first responders working on the recovery operation and personnel investigating the crash. I share my condolences to those impacted by this tragedy.
Trump's illegal firing of federal employees increases costs and red tape for Veterans.
In the @democrats-appropriations.house.gov markup, I shared Albert Ostering’s story, a federal employee and Veteran who has served this country for over 30 years:
Republicans' defense bill slashes critical funding that supports the readiness & wellbeing of our troops & ensures we fulfill our commitment to our allies.
Watch @democrats-appropriations.house.gov fight against the Trump Admin's efforts to weaken our military & our democracy.
Trump praises veterans and military families, yet Republicans are forcing a VA overhaul that increases costs, diminishes the quality of care, and reduces access to vital programs.
We must ensure we're serving our veterans just as they served our country.
62 years ago, President Kennedy signed the #EqualPayAct into law.
As Trump's policies continue to raise costs and make it difficult for Americans to get ahead, it's imperative that we build on our progress to close the wage gap.
Democrats are committed to making equal pay for equal work a reality.

Glad to attend the 38th Annual Patuxent River Wade-In & carry on my dear friend Bernie Fowler’s mission to restore our beloved Maryland waters.
I'm proud to see that this year’s “Sneaker Index” was 48 inches, a result of our continued conservation efforts for the Chesapeake Bay.
I'm always proud to host the annual Educators Luncheon & honor our outstanding #MD05 education professionals. As Trump continues his attacks on the Dept. of Education, I'll keep fighting to ensure our students receive equal treatment under the law & in the classroom.

These shameful efforts reflect the prejudice that the Trump Administration uses to shape its policies and fuel its continued assault on Americans’ civil rights.
The actions taken by Secretary Hegseth to remove the names of Harriet Tubman, Harvey Milk, and other Civil Rights heroes from U.S. Navy vessels are beneath the dignity of our country and the values our Armed Services stand for.
Today's #JobsReport reveals that the Trump era is averaging 1/3 the monthly job gains we experienced during the Biden Administration.
Trump's policies continue to slow down growth, lower confidence in our economy, and raise expectations of a recession.

On today's Democratic Daily Download, @equality.house.gov Chair @repmarktakano.bsky.social celebrates Pride Month! House Democrats will never stop fighting for freedom and equality for all Americans.
Trump and Musk set out to traumatize the federal workforce. Today I told Russell Vought that these efforts have cost workers their lives.
More from the @democrats-appropriations.house.gov FSGG hearing today:

The Trump Administration has broken the law, reduced efficiency, and traumatized federal employees all to undermine the government's vital work for the American people.
Tune in at 2:00 p.m. to see @democrats-appropriations.house.gov demand answers from OMB Director Russell Vought.
Republicans claim they want to cut deficits, yet their "big, ugly bill" would add more to the debt than any bill in history while leaving 11 million more Americans without health insurance.
I hope my Senate colleagues reject this disgusting abomination.

Trump's OMB Director, Russell Vought, has taken drastic actions to demonize federal employees.
Federal employees are collapsing from stress on the job. @democrats-appropriations.house.gov on FSGG will demand answers today.

My dear friend late Congressman Gerry Connolly worked to invest in esophageal cancer research as he fought a courageous battle with the disease.
I was proud to vote for the Gerald E. Connolly Esophageal Cancer Awareness Act to honor his legacy & continue the work to end esophageal cancer for good.

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @sylviagarcia.house.gov highlights how Republican cuts to SNAP in the One, Big Ugly Bill will strain our food banks and leave families in our communities behind.
