The loss of over $98 million in @usedgov.bsky.social funding would devastate efforts to address pandemic learning loss in MD schools. I joined @alsobrooks.senate.gov & the Maryland Democratic Delegation to urge Secretary Linda McMahon to ensure our state receives this vital funding.
I asked Trump’s Treasury Secretary whether Trump’s policies have pushed us into a recession. His answer does little to dispel Americans’ anxiety over the economic chaos coming out of the White House.
The Trump Admin's staff + budget cuts and DOGE's infiltration at the IRS does little to ease hardworking Americans' economic concerns. Today I'm asking US Treasury Sec. Bessent about Trump's plan to support taxpayers and lower costs. Join me and @democrats-appropriations.house.gov:
I'm sorry to hear my dear friend @schakowsky.house.gov will conclude her 26 years of serving IL-09 in the House at the end of the 119th Congress. I thank Jan for her intellect, integrity, & kindness & wish her family well as this chapter comes to a close. hoyer.house.gov/media/press-...
Proud to join in Public Service Recognition Week amid unprecedented attacks by Trump and Musk. From the VA to the NIH, I thank these brave workers for their service to the American people each and every day.
Join me in celebrating #MD05's own Elaina Camacho for winning Gold & Silver in Snowshoeing at the 2025 Special Olympics World Games in Turin, Italy. I am always proud to cheer on & support our Special Olympics Maryland athletes on and off of the world stage. Congratulations, Elaina!

When he was six years old, Leader Jeffries’ son Joshua explained that “debacle” means “something bad.” On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social explains how the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s presidency have been a debacle for the American people.
Republicans' cuts to Medicaid would force millions of American families to lose coverage and access to vital care. Their efforts to cut Medicaid to fund tax cuts for the wealthy is cruel and catastrophic for the health of hard-working Americans and our nation.
Great to join a celebration tonight for this year’s recipients of the @ukrjewenc.bsky.social Sheptytsky Award, Lina Kostenko and Bernard Henry Levi. May the moral courage that shines through their art inspire and give us strength as we continue fighting to ensure a Ukrainian victory.

What has Trump done to make Americans’ lives better in his first 100 days in office? Nothing. In today’s Democratic Daily Download, @repbarragan.bsky.social recaps how Republicans are making life worse for Americans – raising costs and taking away health care to give tax breaks to billionaires.
Trump brought back his politics of revenge & retribution while his promises that got him elected – to lower costs, fix immigration, make government more efficient – remain unfulfilled 100 days later. Thanks to Trump, Americans are less prosperous, safe, & satisfied with the direction of our country.
Proud to join @equality.house.gov to support reintroducing the #EqualityAct, which I worked to pass in the House as Majority Leader in the 117th Congress. We'll keep working together to combat Trump's continued attacks on civil rights & expand protections against discrimination for all Americans.
From standing up for his constituents in VA-11 to battling his cancer diagnosis, my dear friend @connolly.house.gov has always been a fighter. I am proud to have served alongside Gerry in the House for 16 years, & his departure at the end of the 119th will be a great loss to our Congress & country.
On #WorkersMemorialDay, we remember those we've lost to workplace-related injury or illness. Today, my thoughts are with the families of victims in the Key Bridge collapse. We honor their memories by continuing the fight to improve and reinforce protections for workers to lead long, healthy lives.
