On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, let us remember that the Holocaust was borne not only of the Nazis' virulent fascist ideology, but also the world's failure to stop its spread.
I urge all Marylanders in Prince George's County to abide by @wsscwater.bsky.social's Essential-Water-Use-Only Request as we experience ongoing frigid temperatures. I thank WSSC for their continued partnership to keep our water safe & our communities informed. Visit the link below for more guidance:
It's been an honor to work alongside my dear friend
@eleanornorton.bsky.social, an extraordinary civil rights advocate & longstanding champion on behalf of statehood & equality for residents of D.C. I thank her for her remarkable service & friendship & wish her well as this chapter comes to a close.
Congratulations to Harold Simmons II & his daughter, Aura, of Charles County on their Grammy nomination for Best Children’s Music Album!
Their album “Harmony” radiates joy & positivity that our youth & their families need. #MD05 is proud to see your talent & collaboration receive this recognition.
Attention Marylanders: the 2025-2026 tax season begins today.
Although the Trump Admin shuttered Direct File - a free & secure program thousands of Americans utilized - MD Comptroller remains committed to ensuring your filing goes as smooth as possible. Visit www.marylandcomptroller.gov for more.
I call on Trump to recall ICE, Border Patrol, and any other federal agents he has deployed to Minneapolis for his intimidation campaign immediately. My full statement:

Congratulations to Maryland's Noah Grove on qualifying to represent Team USA once again in the upcoming 2026 Paralympics!
I look forward to watching you demonstrate your impressive athleticism as you compete this March. Wishing you much luck as you go for the gold!
Ahead of the inclement weather that is due to reach our region this weekend, I encourage Marylanders in #MD05 and beyond to heighten your awareness and preparedness for the snow & ice.
Please refer to the resources below for tips and information related to incoming winter storm. Stay safe and warm.
Trump may have changed course in his pursuit of Greenland, but his threats have undermined stability and strained our relationship with our NATO allies.
In attempting to make the United States look big on the map, he's made the nation look small in the eyes of the world.
Reproductive care is health care. It is vital that we remain united in the fight to preserve women's freedoms and provide affordable access to health care, including abortion.
53 years ago, the Supreme Court affirmed women's constitutional right to make their own reproductive health care decisions in Roe v. Wade. That right was infringed upon when the Court made the drastic & dangerous decision to overturn the landmark case in 2023, sowing chaos & devastation nationwide.
I'm proud to announce over $1.4 million in federal funding toward local projects to improve road safety in Maryland!
Infrastructure modernization can help reduce accidents, prevent injuries, and save lives. #TeamMaryland will keep working to deliver these critical investments in our communities.
While the President claims he won't use economic or military force to acquire Greenland, it is imperative that Congress exercise its constitutional power of the purse to prohibit a U.S. invasion of a NATO member state.

Trump hasn't articulated a single national security or economic objective in Greenland that we can't already achieve through our current agreement with Denmark.
Trump’s refusal to hold Putin accountable is not only disgraceful, but also dangerous. His continued efforts to appease and partner with this craven dictator is a betrayal of freedom, democracy, and international law.
Putin has denigrated humanitarian principles and morals through his illegal invasion of Ukraine. This invitation is an insult to the Ukrainians and Europeans who are actively fighting against the relentless assault on Ukraine’s sovereignty.
Cooperation amongst world leaders is crucial to rebuilding Gaza and stabilizing the region. However, extending an invitation to Putin to join the Board of Peace undermines the mission to eradicate Hamas, secure peace, and promote reconciliation amongst nations.
It was an honor to join my colleagues to reaffirm the U.S Congress’ commitment to preserving our alliance with the Kingdom of Denmark.
As a proud Danish American and founder & Co-Chair of the Friends of Denmark Caucus, I’ll keep working to advance our two nations' cooperation in Greenland & beyond.
In the face of countless setbacks and disappointments, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. kept the dream of a better, more equal America alive.
On #MLKDay and beyond, let us find wisdom in how he navigated & resisted injustices and rededicate ourselves to completing the work to which he called us.
Contrary to the bluster coming from the White House, Denmark has been a model ally in our decades-long partnership.
I’m proud to join a bipartisan & bicameral delegation in Denmark to demonstrate that Trump's threats against Greenland don’t reflect the views of the American people or the Congress.
