5 years ago, we passed the Great American Outdoors Act and permanently funded the LWCF. Today, we’re seeing the results: the Achenbach Canyon property is now public land—thanks to LWCF Recreation Access funds. Improving access to OUR public lands is exactly why we fought for it.

Too many New Mexicans are seeing insurance premiums skyrocket, losing coverage, or being priced out of their homes. That's unacceptable. We need a clearer picture of how worsening wildfires and climate risks are impacting insurance companies’ decisions.
This is all Trump and his Big, Bad Bill. Not through neglect but by active malice. Killing tens of thousands of good jobs, smashing manufacturing, and drying up billions in investment. No wonder the jobs numbers are so bad.
“The story is just too simple: Democrats passed a law to encourage clean energy called the Inflation Reduction Act. Republicans repealed it. Energy prices inflated.” The electricity affordability crisis is coming, and Republicans are the ones who are fast-tracking it.
An incredibly bad jobs report in which most of the jobs added in July were in health care–an industry soon to be decimated by Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill. But don’t worry, he's putting in a $200M ballroom at the White House.
On World Ranger Day, I want to say a special “thank you” to those park service rangers who are no longer wearing the uniform as a result of the Trump Administration’s decision to push out a quarter of the NPS workforce. I appreciate everything you have done in service to our parks and communities.
Tonight, I voted YES on two bills to block offensive weapons transfers to Israel. One blocks bombs and guidance kits used to level homes and hospitals in Gaza. The other stops assault rifles from getting in the hands of extremist forces enabling settler violence in the West Bank.
60 years ago, Medicare and Medicaid were signed into law. We should be working to strengthen these programs at every turn. Instead, Donald Trump and Republicans take every opportunity to weaken or destroy them.
