Today, my colleague @replamonica.bsky.social is in court on trumped up charges that she acted improperly while exercising her constitutional & statutory duty to provide oversight at ICE facilities.
If this administration thinks they will scare & silence us, they're wrong.
I stand with Rep. McIver.

Today, we celebrate the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil.
Happy Diwali, Oregon!

While Republicans refuse to reopen government, pay federal workers, or address the impending health care crisis, here are a few of the things they are doing:

We are on a dangerous path in America. A panel of Ninth Circuit judges has chosen to not hold the president accountable: they just granted the federal government’s motion to stay our first TRO, which prevented the president from deploying Oregon National Guard troops in Oregon.
Republicans cut Medicaid by $1 trillion in their budget bill. Now they want to let ACA subsidies expire for 24 million Americans.
The impending Republican health care crisis is going to hit us all, that's why Republicans must come back to the table to help us fix the mess they've created.
On Indigenous People’s Day, as we should everyday, we honor the strength, culture, and resilience of Indigenous people across the country and we recommit ourselves to the fight for justice.

TO ALL FEDERAL WORKERS: if you were illegally fired today and have information of wrongdoing or abuse of power by the Trump Administration, our whistleblower tip line is open.
We want to hear from you. All whistleblowers are federally protected.
House Republicans are now using the shutdown that THEY STARTED to justify not swearing in a duly elected Democratic Representative.
Why?
Maybe because she'll be the final signature we need to release Epstein files.
There is no excuse for playing with people's health care to protect pedophiles.

Today is #LatinaEqualPayDay, the day when Latina pay catches up to what White men made last year alone.
That’s $0.54 to $1.
A union contract is how we start to close the wage gap so Latina women get the equal pay, dignity and respect they deserve.

I am grateful to @agdanrayfield.bsky.social & his team for standing up for our state. This reaffirms what we have always known: the Administration’s lies about Portland do not reflect the reality on the ground.
This paragraph from the Trump-appointed judge makes it clear what’s at stake here.
President Trump is doubling down because he wants to see how far he can take this illegal militarization.
This is just the next boundary he is hoping to cross without pushback.
Now is the time to speak up so this doesn’t end in every major American city under military occupation.
With the chaos in D.C. and President Trump's non-stop attacks on our state, I will host a telephone town hall next Tuesday to hear from you, answer your questions, and share more about my work here in D.C.

1) This is incredibly racist.
2) He is referring to EMTALA, a Reagan-era law that requires a hospital to provide life-saving care, regardless of your ability to pay.
3) Does VP Vance prefer we just let stroke victims die in our waiting rooms because they can’t speak & verify their status?
Vance: "If you're an American citizen & you've been to the hospital in the last few years, you've probably noticed wait times are especially large & very often somebody who's there in the ER is an illegal alien. Why do those people get healthcare benefits at hospitals paid for by American citizens?"

On top of EJ Antoni liking Nazi warships, running a creepy anonymous Twitter account and being at the Capitol on January 6th, he was not remotely qualified to run the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
His nomination being pulled is a win for all working people.
Our military is not trained for de-escalation or peacekeeping, they are trained to kill efficiently. We should not be sending them into our cities to police civilians.
Not only does this go against the Posse Comitatus Act, it will only escalate tensions.
This whole time, Republicans told us they didn't want our input, ideas, or votes. Now that they've failed to keep government open, it's suddenly our fault?
Keep the same energy or come to the table and negotiate.
You know where to find us.
Government shutdowns create uncertainty for families, workers, and communities. My commitment is simple: to serve you. If you have questions, need clarity, or require assistance, my office is ready to help.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
