I’m proud to reintroduce a resolution to award the Congressional Gold Medal to the Freedom Riders–heroes who risked everything to fight segregation. Their courage changed history. It’s time to honor them. #CivilRights #BlackHistoryMonth
Elon Musk, a private citizen, shouldn't have access to your personal data. Instead of introducing legislation to curb this overreach and lower prices, Republicans are more concerned with whether Elon will bankroll them in the primaries.
Instead of going after billionaires & big corporations to lower costs, Trump is imposing tariffs on our neighboring allies while going soft on China—driving up prices on gas, groceries, and housing, killing jobs, and straining supply chains. American workers will pay the price.
This month, we commemorate the legacy of Black people & recognize that Black History is American history. Teaching it is teaching America’s history. Acknowledging it means telling the whole truth. Let us never forget that.
If you are one of the federal government employees who received Trump's “Fork In The Road” memo, don't be tricked or frightened into resigning. You can't depend on a promise to pay you for 8 months, from a guy with a history of not paying people who work for him. Know you rights.
I pledge to you that we will continue to let you know what’s going on so you can be inspired to do what you have to do to protect yourself & your loved ones & also give a little back to your community. Those values are still here despite the fact that Trump does not have them.
Trump vowed to be a dictator on day one. By slashing federal funding passed by Congress–a plan right out of Project 2025–this illegal plan threatens democracy, hurts farmers, raises rent and grocery prices, makes college less affordable, and undermines disease-fighting efforts.
The White House budget office is ordering a pause to all grants and loans disbursed by the federal government, according to an internal memo sent to agencies Monday, creating significant confusion across Washington.
Trump is acting like a dictator, repeatedly ignoring the laws of Congress. He will continue to impose authoritarian rule unless stopped in the courts. But, will he even abide by Supreme Court rulings he disagrees with? www.nytimes.com/2025/01/24/u...
Today, we remember the six million Jewish people who were killed during the Holocaust. We must continue our fight against antisemitism and ensure that the horrors of the Holocaust are never minimized or forgotten. When one group is targeted, we all aren’t safe. #NeverAgain
The Neighbors Not Enemies Act sponsored by @repilhan.bsky.social & @hirono.senate.gov repeals the Alien Enemies Act, preventing the internment & deportation of people with no due process based solely on their nationality. It’s past time we end this archaic law. #NeighborsNotEnemies
As we reflect on this 52nd #RoevWade anniversary, the third without Roe, the need for nationwide protection of the right to abortion is evident. Today and every day, I am proud to fight with @reprocaucus.bsky.social Caucus to restore, expand, and protect reproductive freedom.
