Unlike other people who pretend to know what they’re talking about on this, I actually represent the country’s biggest military community. Kicking out trans service members is the last thing we need when trans people are TWICE as likely as cis people to join the military.
I toured Monarch School – the only school of its kind in the country that serves unhoused students K-12. I’m pushing to protect programs that these students and families rely on – like Medicaid and SNAP – and to lower the cost of housing.

I was blown away by the creativity of the students in last year’s App Challenge! Congratulations to Milan on winning by building Electrance, which allows users to create and produce music. And congrats to Milia on earning 2nd place with Civics4All, a civics education app.
Hear for yourself – from Head Start parents – about why Head Start is life-changing and funding shouldn’t be cut.
I LOVED meeting the 6th and 7th graders at Wangenheim Middle School!
Donald Trump’s trade war is sending the price of car seats and baby strollers through the roof. He needs to end this pointless trade war and end the baby tax.
Grossmont Child Development Center is one of many facilities in San Diego that receive funding from Head Start, in order to provide affordable, high-quality child care. We need to protect Head Start.
The Linda Vista multicultural fair represents the best of us and the best of our country: diversity, acceptance, understanding, creativity, and innovation. I’m so proud to represent this community in Congress.
Just to state the obvious: immigrants should be treated with dignity and respect – not thrown in jails (at times without any due process), where neglect, abuse, and deaths are rampant.
Have you been online shopping and, like me, left things in your cart for a while? Well, today your cart is probably more expensive (potentially twice as much) – and you can thank Trump for that.
Trump’s budget leaked – and he’s proposing ZEROING OUT funding for Head Start.
Head Start funds high-quality, affordable child care and early education programs like this one, run by Neighborhood House Association. Losing these programs would be devastating to our community.
This is HUGE! We're not at war with Venezuela, so I'm relieved that a federal judge ruled that Trump's use of the Alien Enemies Act (and justification for his lack of due process) is illegal.
I was so glad to join this group of young leaders at the UCSD Women’s Center. The Women’s Center provides an inclusive space and promotes equity and education on gender issues on campus. Now more than ever, building a community like this is vitally important.
It was so fun to stop by Montgomery STEAM Magnet Middle School to hear students’ Jacobs Teen Innovation Challenge ideas, tackling serious real-world problems, like stopping teen vaping. So inspired by all their creativity, thoughtfulness, and ambition!
There’s something wrong with you if you want to cut off life-saving support to kids who need it.
100 days under President Trump: here’s where we are and what we do next.
DOGE’s motto: Move fast, break [Social Security]
I introduced an amendment today to prohibit any taxpayer dollars from being used for Secretary Hegseth's makeup studio at the Pentagon.
Every single one of my Republican colleagues on the House Armed Services Committee voted against it. Every. single. one.
Republicans talk a big game about reducing waste, but they want to give an EXTRA $150 Billion to the Pentagon – bringing the Pentagon’s total budget to over $ ONE TRILLION – even though they've failed SEVEN consecutive audits.
What happened to "fiscal responsibility"?
Mistakes this egregious should never happen – and they wouldn’t if Trump followed the law and respected everyone’s right to due process.
