This violent rhetoric is unbecoming of the Presidency and dangerous in a time of heightened political violence. We all need to lower the temperature. Dangerous distractions when we should be working to lower costs and make life more affordable for hardworking American families are just wrong.
Today, we mark the anniversary of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. I pause to reflect on the courage of those who made the ultimate sacrifice and the enduring promise of our democracy. Their lives remind us that freedom is earned, not given, and that our work to build a just, united nation carries on.
During #NationalRuralHealthMonth l'm sharing stories from NW Ohio. Next year, for tens of thousands of people across my region and 500,000 Ohioans, health insurance will become unaffordable. Speaker Johnson, I hope you listen to these desperate pleas.
Every House GOP Member except Rep. Thomas Massie and Rep. Greg Steube voted to send Millions of taxpayer dollars to 8 US Senators related to their potential involvement in the January 6 plot. I voted no on the self-dealing payout — why didn't they?
225 years ago, Congress first convened in Washington DC. I hope that once we finally are able to vote to release the Epstein files this week that the House can swiftly bring itself to do something meaningful to address the affordability challenges so many American families face day in and day out.
NW Ohio farmers, producers, growers, ranchers, and consumers deserve consistent trade policies that don’t shift with political winds or whims. When our markets lack certainty, it becomes harder to get ahead, guarantee the bottom line, and afford to pay at the check out counter.

When your health care costs go way up 📈next year, just remember the GOP majority in Congress: 🛡️Stopped efforts to save your ACA tax credits 🏥Slashed Medicaid by $1 Trillion 🩺Defunded medical research 🧓🏻Cut Medicare All to give massive tax breaks to their Billionaire buddies.

Congress today should vote for affordable health insurance for Americans and reduce its rising costs. Instead, in the dead of night, eight Senate Republicans slipped into this bill a payola for themselves, literally raking millions of dollars to themselves. This is corruption.
Back in DC with @DebbieDingell.house.gov & @RepHaleyStevens.bsky.social, we are still fighting for a path to reopen government that ensures affordable health care and food assistance will be accessible for Americans who need it most. Proud to be in this fight with them for our region and all of you.
On this #VeteransDay we show our gratitude to millions of men and women who answered the call and served America at home and abroad for the cause of Liberty. Today, veterans will be honored in Ohio and across our country. I urge all to take time to reach out and show gratitude to a veteran today.
50 years ago today, the SS Edmund Fitzgerald sank in Lake Superior during a violent storm. From 1958-75, this Great Lakes freighter carried iron ore from Duluth to Detroit, Toledo, and other Great Lakes ports. Today, we remember and honor the life and legacy of the 29 souls lost.
Celebrating 250 years of the US Marines—a proud tradition older than our nation itself. Today, I think of those who were always faithful to answer the call to serve. As we approach Veterans Day tomorrow, I also think of my own Marine uncles who fought for Liberty for all during WWII #SemperFi #Oorah
If we don’t extend ACA subsidies, premiums are going to double or worse. People can’t afford it. We need to make health care more affordable, not unobtainable and out of reach. Affordability is what we are fighting for. It’s time to come to the table and negotiate a real deal now!
We must protect health care because the GOP hasn’t advanced a health care plan in more than a decade. Yet, come January 1st they would wipe out ACA support for over 185,000 across NW Ohio.
Important to keep our eye on the ball. A devastating shutdown, costs rising, cuts to food assistance coupled with more and more tax cuts for big business and the ultra wealthy. This isn't what people voted for, but it’s what we get time and again.
