WH's 28 pt plan for Ukraine is total capitulation to Putin. Ukraine's future is up to Ukraine, & Europe as well as the international community must be at the table - it must be rejected. More below:
Productive conversation today with the Ambassador of Colombia to the United States, Amb. Daniel García-Peña, on efforts to counter transnational crime and the impacts of the admin's illegal boat strikes.
All the credit to the survivors who stepped up to make their voices heard in an effort to make sure that no child should ever again have to go through the trauma that they experienced, and that no White House can dismiss their lived experience as a hoax.
The Trump Administration is illegally blowing up boats and undertaking extrajudicial killings in the western hemisphere and the American people deserve evidence and facts, not bluster. My full statement:
If you have plans to escape the cold this winter, now is the time to take a look at your passport. With routine processing times of 4-6 weeks and a suggestion to allow an additional 2 weeks on both ends for mailing, time is running out for routine processing before the February school break.
Today we thank and honor the men and women who have served our nation and the families that have sacrificed alongside them.
To all who have served, I extend my deepest gratitude today and always: Thank you for your service
As we await further action in the Senate, I’m fearful that House Republicans are preparing to return to Washington after 53 days away just to cast a vote to continue to willfully neglect their responsibilities.
The decision between forcing Americans to starve or taking away their healthcare access is not a choice at all; it’s a political ransom, and it’s as low as it gets.
Republicans in Congress couldn’t kill the ACA with over 70 legislative attempts over 15 years, so now the plan is to defund it out of existence by forcing massive premium increases on everyday Americans.
Trump is abusing his power here, and his stated purpose is to destroy the Affordable Care Act, which provides affordable healthcare access to millions of Americans.
POTUS is in court again, fighting to prevent the distribution of SNAP benefits, and now he’s focused on penalizing states like MA that are stepping up to feed residents who are going hungry while the administration wages its fight in court to prevent the use of available funds to sustain SNAP.
I was glad to stop by the Dartmouth Friends of the Elderly's annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon today to say thank you to the men and women who have served our nation and to congratulate this year's honorees, Norm Gunderson and Bob Mayo, on their recognitions.
The Trump administration has once again opted to cut food assistance to hungry seniors, children, veterans, and people with disabilities. This is a manufactured crisis that continues to get worse as it drags on due to the legally and morally questionable decisions made by this administration.
Open Enrollment starts today, and that means many of you will be exploring options as you face steep premium increases as a result of changes made by Republicans in Congress.
If you're one of the 93% of ACA enrollees facing increases, please share your story: https://keating.house.gov/yourpremiums
We knew POTUS was acting illegally by refusing to issue November SNAP benefits, and now we have the court order to prove it. 42 million Americans - and 1 in 9 veterans - are facing hunger tomorrow because Donald Trump chose to break the law and put his own politics ahead of the American people.
POTUS is faced with two options: he can direct USDA to pay out SNAP benefits or he can do nothing and force 42 million Americans to go hungry. Starving Americans to score political points shouldn’t be considered an option at all, but the cruelty all too often seems to be the point these days.
The GOP's absent, unserious approach to the shutdown (and the Speaker's efforts to stall the swearing in of Rep-Elect Grijalva to avoid a vote on releasing the Epstein Files) is maddening on it's own - but it's especially egregious when it's blocking pay for our men and women in uniform.
The House GOP left DC on September 19th and, despite their ongoing government shutdown, have not returned to DC since.
I am a co-sponsor of H.R. 5401 - the Pay Our Troops Act of 2026 which will ensure our military personnel do not miss their October 15th paycheck, and I joined my colleagues in calling on Speaker Johnson to reconvene the House so we can vote on it ASAP.
