I voted against the so called "SAVE" Act today. American elections are already secure, and the SAVE Act introduces unnecessary voter restrictions for millions of eligible citizens by claiming they are a “solution” to a made-up problem.
The Republican SAVE Act would make it more difficult for over 1.4 million Massachusetts women to register to vote or cast a ballot.
Trump is out-and-out lying to the American people that other countries may not come back with retaliatory tariffs! There is no bet here. In my time representing our country on foreign affairs issues and, as recently as conversations with officials yesterday, the blowback is coming, and soon.
Let us pledge today to recommit ourselves to ensuring that every person feels safe, respected, and free to be their authentic self. In a world that too often tests our compassion, choose to be an ally. It is the measure of our humanity and our decency. 🏳️‍⚧️
As a former District Attorney, I am deeply interested in an explanation, too, on why she was arrested in the manner she was by masked, plain clothed officers, why she was transported so quickly to Louisiana, and how quickly she was given access to an attorney. 4/5
I requested explanations from Secretary Noem about why Ozturk was arrested, why and how her visa was revoked, what policies are in place to revoke visas overall, and what polices have been put in place specifically for students. 3/5
I contacted the Department of Homeland Security to make clear that the Trump Administration should not be detaining and deporting legal residents like Rumeysa Ozturk just because they hold an opposing political view. 1/5
Rumeysa Ozturk didn't commit a crime - she just expressed an opinion that Donald Trump doesn't agree with, and you don't have to agree with her words to be upset by that. Congress has oversight over ICE - the majority must take immediate action to investigate.
Rumeysa Ozturk didn't commit a crime - she just expressed an opinion that Donald Trump doesn't agree with, and you don't have to agree with her words to be upset by that. Congress has oversight over ICE and the majority must take action to investigate Ozturk's abduction, removal to Louisiana, and the Trump Administration's abandonment of due process immediately.

I know that my GOP colleagues are already scared to death of crossing Donald Trump; they should only need to consult the words of Martin Niemöller to find the courage to stand up now before it's their own free speech on the chopping block.
1) Pete Hegseth should not be Secretary of Defense. If he won't resign, POTUS should remove him. 2) GOP Leadership needs to wake up to their oversight role and haul Hegseth and his fellow texters in.
On Hegseth/Signalgate, here's my call. We need to find out why this happened & what's being done to ensure it never happens again. I signed a HASC letter today calling on Chair Rogers to hold a hearing with SecDef after POTUS ignored us. How many more lives will be endangered before GOP wakes up?
So yes, “but her emails” all you want, but maybe also take a step back and realize that you can be against private email servers AND private text chains – and any other careless handling of government secrets.
