Congratulations and thank you to the Town of Yarmouth and all involved on such a meaningful observance of the 250th anniversary of the Town’s Declaration of Independence and recognition of the 447 men of Old Yarmouth who fought in the Revolution.
Over 160 years after emancipation on Juneteenth, Donald Trump and the GOP are doing everything in their power to rip away the freedoms that generations of courageous Americans have fought and died to preserve. I refuse to stand down, and together, we will continue to fight for a more perfect union.
Yesterday, the House passed via discharge petition the Ukraine Support Act. In the absence of House GOP action, House Democrats and a few brave Republicans reaffirmed their support for Ukraine. This bill includes billions in vital assistance to Ukraine and comprehensive anti-Russia sanctions.
President Trump's war of choice in Iran is costing Americans millions. Tonight, I voted yes with the majority of House Members to pass an Iran war powers resolution making clear my opposition to this war.   The House has spoken, and President Trump must end it.
Trump's deeply unpopular war in Iran has cost the American people billions. But instead of letting the House vote to end the war, Republicans canceled the vote. Speaker Johnson can't prolong the inevitable and it is time Republicans face up to the reality that this war must end.
As a friend who served with Barney Frank from the Massachusetts House to the United States House, I saw up close Barney's commitment to the needs of the most needy. His legislative style encompassed skill, intellect, and, most importantly, pragmatism. Full Stmt:
As a friend who served with Barney Frank from the Massachusetts House to the United States House, I saw up close Barney's commitment to the needs of the most needy. His legislative style encompassed skill, intellect, and, most importantly, pragmatism.

Whether he was on the national stage or advocating for his constituents here in the Commonwealth, Barney served our nation in an exemplary way. My thoughts are with Barney’s husband Jim, the Frank family, and his extensive network of friends and supporters.
I am proud to lead the Ukraine Support Act with Reps. Meeks and Hoyer. The Discharge petition on this legislation now has 218 signatures and sends a strong message to President Trump and Speaker Johnson that the majority of the House supports the US fulfilling our promises to Ukraine.
Rihan is in a cell in Plymouth right now because his dad, Zia, was an interpreter for U.S. forces in Afghanistan. I met with Zia while he was in ICE custody himself last summer - he spoke with such pride about his kids. We will fight this. https://loom.ly/5qjnEnY
The 25th Amendment warrants attention and discussion, even if we know we can’t necessarily depend on a cabinet full of people chosen for their allegiance to Trump to initiate the process.
The Speaker must reconvene Congress so we can hold hearings and cast votes to reign in this out of control President and his actions, his words, and his illegal war of choice. My full statement:
The President’s statements about Iran are horrible, destabilizing, destructive, and clearly demonstrate that he is not only unqualified but also unfit for office. Threatening to destroy an entire civilization is obviously a war crime, and it should be condemned by all Americans, including my Republican colleagues in Congress.

But that’s not enough - the power enshrined in Congress by our Constitution is not the power to issue statements on social media, our power is to legislate and act as a check on the executive branch. We should be in Washington right now, and the only person stopping us from ending this extended recess and holding Donald Trump accountable is Speaker Mike Johnson.

The Speaker must reconvene Congress so we can hold hearings and cast votes to reign in this out of control President and his actions, his words, and his illegal war of choice.
Yesterday I spoke in support of passing the ALERT Act - and in support of bringing the ROTOR Act back to the floor for a vote - so that we can stop reacting to tragic accidents and near-misses and instead prevent them from happening in the first place.
Today, I voted with Dems on the House Foreign Affairs Committee to subpoena Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner to testify on Iran and Ukraine. GOP voted no. House GOP must demand transparency, accountability, and public testimony from this administration. The American people deserve it.
The Trump administration cut State Dept funding to assist on investigating Putin’s war crimes, and just like Marco Rubio, the Undersecretary in charge of those cuts is refusing - under oath - to even say whether or not Putin is a war criminal.
I am disturbed, horrified, and unsurprised with this administration's continued, cruel attacks on science and global health. This is yet another example of the Trump administration playing politics with the health and well being of those who need help. It must stop.
A pleasure to see Taoiseach Micheál Martin on St. Patrick's Day to reaffirm the US-Ireland relationship.   The stories of Ireland and America are so often interlinked, and today is a reminder that we will always celebrate our enduring and long-lasting friendship.
