Republicans are celebrating one year since the Big Ugly Law, a horrible piece of legislation that steals from hardworking people and gives more to the wealthy.
In my district alone, 27,000 people will pay more for their healthcare, while another 31,000 people could lose their coverage entirely.
From neighborhood playgrounds and forest preserves to the Pullman National Historical Park, our parks connect us to nature, our history, and each other.

Republicans cut Medicaid by $880 billion.
It’s cruel.
It’s evil.
It’s against our mandate as public servants.
I will not remain silent while Republicans continue to take away healthcare access.
Medicaid saves lives. Period.
Imagine what we could accomplish if Republicans and Trump put Americans first instead of wasting billions on chosen wars and vanity projects.
That money could strengthen our schools, lower costs, expand healthcare, and invest in our communities.
Taking food away from hungry children isn't cutting waste, fraud, or abuse. It is just plain cruel.
Trump and Republicans cut $187 BILLION from food assistance because they'd rather reward the wealthy than help struggling families put dinner on the table.
I've heard from too many seniors who are worried about gun violence, Medicaid, and Social Security.
After a lifetime of hard work, they deserve security and peace of mind.
Millions of Americans are struggling to afford basic necessities and a roof over their heads.
Meanwhile, Trump says the housing affordability crisis is “so unimportant” and “a big yawn.” He can barely manage to stay awake—much less lower costs for Americans.
Thank you to the APA for the 2025 Jacob Javits Public Service Award. I will continue my fight to ensure every family can access the healthcare and substance use care they need.
Your family is paying more because of the Republican inability to stand up to President Trump.
They are complicit in allowing Trump’s tariffs and war in Iran to continue.
