No one should have to cut their prescription pills in half or skip a doctor's visit just to make ends meet. As Chair of the @cbc.house.gov Health Braintrust, I’m keeping the pressure on to cap out-of-pocket medical costs and protect healthcare access for all.
In Illinois, gas prices hit $4.92 per gallon. In Cook County, it’s over $5. Meanwhile, President Trump continues his reckless war in Iran, gives tax breaks to billionaires, and created a $1.8 billion slush fund for his political allies. He doesn’t think twice about you.
Speaker Johnson cancelled the vote on the War Powers Resolution because he knew he’d lose. Once again, Republicans would rather pander to Trump and his costly war than stand up for the American people. No president should have unchecked power for war.
Rigged voting maps to strip away Black political power is straight out of the Jim Crow playbook. It is a deliberate attempt to break our communities apart and silence our voices. Trump’s attempts to steal this election is not slick. We see it. And we will fight it.
Behind closed doors, Republicans are complaining about Trump's corrupt $1.8B Jan. 6 slush fund. Complaining in private isn’t enough. House Republicans need to find a backbone, stand up to this administration, and stop wasting taxpayer dollars on extremism.
Walking out of the grocery store with two bags shouldn't cost a fortune. Trump’s chaotic economic policies are making life harder for paycheck-to-paycheck workers. I will keep fighting to check corporate greed and bring everyday costs back down to earth.
Trump’s war with Iran is a reckless distraction from the real struggles facing working people. Instead of lowering costs or fixing healthcare, this administration is funding foreign conflict and creating economic uncertainty.
I voted to release the Epstein Files because the survivors deserve justice and the American people deserve the truth. No one is too powerful or wealthy to escape justice. We need a full, unredacted investigation into every person who enabled this criminal enterprise.
The Trump Grift has reached a new low. His administration is funneling $1.8 BILLION in taxpayer dollars into a slush fund to compensate his political allies and January 6th rioters. It is a brazen theft of your hard-earned money to reward criminals and his allies.
Rigged Jim Crow maps won't silence us. Just like our parents and grandparents, we are rising to the occasion and fighting for our voting rights. Black youth, especially, are using their powerful voices to build a better future. Seeing them in Montgomery was truly inspiring.
Memorial Day has passed, but our duty to our service members never ends. We honor their legacy by protecting our veterans. I will continue fighting against cuts and the privatization of the VA. For-profit medical systems shouldn't shortchange our heroes.
Memorial Day is a time to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. As communities gather across Illinois and the country, we honor their courage, their service, and the loved ones who carry their memory forward. We remember them today and every day.
Trump and Republicans stripped food assistance from thousands of Illinoisans to pay for billionaires’ tax breaks. Taking food from hungry children is shameful. Taking those same funds to give more to billionaires is downright outrageous.
While families struggle, President Trump is making thousands of stock trades, profiting off his own market-moving decisions. We need to ban the President & Members of Congress from trading stocks and stop this corrupt practice.
Four years ago, 21 families and the entire Uvalde community had their worlds shattered by horrific gun violence. We grieve with them today, but grief is not enough. We owe it to every family from Uvalde to Chicago to pass real gun safety laws and protect our kids.
This Memorial Day weekend is a solemn reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made by our service members. We honor their memory by standing up for our veterans, ensuring our heroes return home to a stable, fully funded, mission-driven VA healthcare system.
Speaker Johnson says members of Congress need to trade stocks to get by on $174,000 a year. Meanwhile, Americans are rationing groceries, skipping healthcare, and trying to survive on wages a fraction of that. He is out of touch with the American people.
Donald Trump’s war in Iran caused gas prices to increase to $5 per gallon in Illinois. Meanwhile, Trump made over 3,700 stock trades in the first quarter of 2026, making millions of dollars. He is profiting off the backs of hardworking Americans. It’s disgusting.
