I got my start in public service on LA County’s Commission for Children & Families. I know firsthand that suspending childcare, TANF & social services with ZERO evidence of fraud only hurts kids, parents & families in need.
Stop putting political grievances over people’s lives. Release the funding.

No investigation. No facts. Just more propaganda from an out-of-control administration.
I stand with Minnesotans in demanding an honest and immediate investigation. (🧵 2/2)
Less than two hours after the shooting, the administration rushed out a reckless, bullshit statement claiming the U.S. citizen that ICE shot and killed in Minnesota was committing “domestic terrorism.” (🧵 1/2)
I just left the classified briefing on Venezuela.
No clear strategy for what comes next. No information on how much this will cost American taxpayers. No commitment that the U.S. won’t use military force against partners like Greenland and Mexico. Americans deserve answers.
A year later, the news cycle has come and gone, but we still feel the pain—and Trump & Republicans are STILL denying Angelenos vital disaster aid needed to recover and rebuild.
Disaster aid should never be partisan. It's far past time to deliver relief funding for all states that need it, NOW.

One year ago, we watched in horror as urban fires flattened entire neighborhoods and destroyed homes, businesses, and livelihoods across LA.

Defending democracy should not be a partisan issue—it's an American issue.
Thank you, @adamkinzinger.substack.com, for upholding your oath to the Constitution. You said it best: those who still refuse to condemn January 6th or admit that Donald Trump lost in 2020 are cowards.
¡Feliz Día de los Reyes to all those celebrating!
Today, we conclude the Christmas season by gathering in community and enjoying roscas de reyes. May the gifts of the three wise men bring you joy and prosperity!
Today, we commemorate January 6 by telling the truth.
We must ensure that history remembers that dreadful day for what it was—an attack on our democracy.
Trump is trying to whitewash the assault he ordered on our Capitol, but Democrats are setting the record straight. Tune in.
My statement on Trump’s military action in Venezuela:
The data doesn’t lie: meals this holiday season were more expensive. Why?
Trump promised lower food prices but delivered the opposite. It’s time he focused less on posting to Truth Social and more on lowering costs for everyday people.
Happy New Year, LA! 🎆
In 2026, I’m doubling down on defending our fundamental rights, holding Trump accountable, and uplifting Angelenos every step of the way.
2026 is almost here... so here are my best moments fighting back against Republican foolishness from 2025.
Hopefully we have to deal with less of this next year.
First, the Trump administration canceled paper checks for tax refunds.
Now, they’ve eliminated the IRS Direct File Program—making it harder for Angelenos to file their taxes.
My office is here to help. If you run into any IRS issues next year, call us at (323) 965-1422.
Trump is building a $300M ballroom, Kristi Noem spent $220M on a glamour photoshoot, Kash is taking his $62M jet on dates with his boo... and Republicans claim to care about fiscal conservatism?
That's the real waste, fraud, and abuse.
The craziness coming out of the Trump White House has us asking “is this a joke?” way too often.
So I thought I’d sit down with comic JF Harris to get to the bottom of Trump’s $40 billion bailout of Argentina.
I was overjoyed to join local community organizations in celebrating Christmas early with Crenshaw residents this past week.
Moments like these remind us that the holidays are truly about coming together, sharing laughs, and uplifting our community.
Happy Kwanzaa!
As we celebrate the principles of Kwanzaa, let us take time to reflect on the power of family, community, and the shared values that guide us.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!
May you share joyful moments with the ones you love.❤️💚
Angelenos, friendly reminder that you’ll need a REAL ID or a passport to fly in the states for the holidays.
As of February 2026, TSA will require you to pay a $45 fee to fly domestically without these documents.
