So the Americans training to become our nurses, dentists, and doctors now face an impossible choice: Get preyed on by high-interest private lenders just to finish school, or don’t go at all.

For new loans, the government is wiping out nearly every flexible
repayment option.
Your choices are a rigid Standard Plan or the new Repayment Assistance Plan.
More than 7 million borrowers in the Biden administration’s SAVE plan are being kicked off, with just a 90-day window to pick a new plan.
Miss it, and the government automatically dumps you into a Standard Repayment Plan with monthly bills far higher than what you’re paying now.
That’s when the worst pieces of the Big Ugly Bill Republicans rammed through last summer finally kick in, and they make it dramatically harder for people with student debt to stay afloat.
Here’s what’s coming.
42 million Americans are buried under $1.87 TRILLION in student loan debt.
And on July 1, it’s about to get a lot worse.
I believe Congress should set the interest rate on every federal student loan at zero. Higher education shouldn’t be a lifelong burden. It should be a real, viable path for any American working to build a better life.

Federal courts have repeatedly found legal defects in this administration’s efforts to halt offshore wind development.

Trump has spent years attacking wind turbines as ugly and inefficient.
He is entitled to his opinions about how they look.
He is not entitled to make taxpayers finance those opinions.
The Trump administration just paid Invenergy $765 million to cancel four wind projects. That brings the running total to roughly $2.5 billion in taxpayer money spent to stop energy from being built.
