My Republican colleagues love to talk about the national debt, but have NOTHING to say about the fact that we’re sending $1 BILLION a day to the Middle East on Trump’s reckless war of choice with Iran. Their hypocrisy is astounding.
Trump spent more in 19 days in Iran–including on bombing elementary schools & killing civilians–than America spends in 6 months on international diplomacy at the State Departmnt. War should be a last resort—not a first impulse.
In just 19 days, Trump has already wasted $25 BILLION on his reckless war of choice with Iran. That’s enough to fund the State Department for half a year. He chooses bombs over diplomacy. Disgusting & just plain stupid.
Republicans refuse to fund TSA, FEMA, CISA, and the Coast Guard because they’re hell bent on letting Trump’s secret police force run rampant. We must fund the critical security agencies that keep us safe—and abolish those that execute Americans in the streets.
What’s a better investment: $24 BILLION on a reckless war of choice in the Middle East, or fixing the roads, bridges, and infrastructure in our national parks & other public lands here at home? Trump made his choice. What’s yours?
Honored to join @mazonusa.bsky.social at this year’s annual Hunger Seder on Capitol Hill. This year, it’s more important than ever that we stand up against the injustice & oppression of hunger. Food is a human right. No person in this country should go without.
By blocking power to Cuba’s hospitals, the United States is guilty of committing a serious human rights abuse. Under Donald Trump’s leadership, America is becoming an international pariah. Diplomacy and engagement should be our strategy. NOT a blockade.
Lisa led a bipartisan @preventcancer.org #CongressionalFamilies coalition on Capitol Hill yesterday, raising awareness about early cancer detection & screening during national Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Proud of my amazing wife for working to build bridges & combat cancer!
Trump’s top economic advisor just said rising prices are the administration’s “last concern.” This is what happens when you have a government of, by, and for the out-of-touch Epstein class billionaire elites. This guy should be fired!
In 18 days, Trump has burned $24 BILLION on his Iran War. That’s enough to eliminate the maintenance backlog in our national parks & public lands—paving roads, fixing bridges, & improving water systems. He’s burning billions overseas while neglecting America’s infrastructure.
A key ingredient for making America healthy is better access to cooking classes so folks can learn how to make more nutritious meals. That's one reason why the Phoenix Food Bank in Lynn is doing INCREDIBLE WORK to improve health in our communities & #EndHungerNow.
So do we need them, or not? Because just minutes before, Trump was asking our allies to step in… He continues destroying key strategic alliances while he plunges our country into chaos. What a disgrace.
Q: What progress have you made in getting America's allies to assist the US in escorting those oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz? TRUMP: Well, we don't need too much help. We don't need any help, actually. In fact we just put out a notice.
