Good news for Westerly: Federal funding is headed to the town to reline aging sewer lines which will reduce stormwater strain on the treatment plant and improve water quality in the Pawcatuck River.
This is smart infrastructure that protects the environment and local residents.
Today we cut the ribbon on the new Pawtucket Central Falls Transit Center with real time rider info, staffed customer service, and more comfortable spaces for passengers. I will continue to fight for more federal funding for transformative projects like this.
There is a lot going on in the country today. I am hosting a telephone town hall TOMORROW to hear from you. Call the number below during the event or fill out this form to receive a call from us.

I was honored to join the MLK State Holiday Observance at Ebenezer Baptist Church today.
In a time marked by fear and chaos, Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy reminds us that hope is possible when we stand together with courage, compassion, and action.
Dr. King said, “Everybody can be great because anybody can serve.”
Today I was proud to join ServeRI and @AmeriCorps for the MLK National Day of Service and put Martin Luther King Jr.’s call to give back into action.
Supporting the next generation of leaders is one of the most powerful ways to carry forward Martin Luther King Jr.’s work.
Honored to join the Minister’s Alliance MLK Scholarship Breakfast in Cranston to celebrate his legacy & challenge young leaders to keep pushing for justice.
Today, we honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. We are reminded every day that injustice still exists and that our nation continues to fall short of being a “more perfect union.”
But guided by his legacy, we endure, and keep working to deliver equality.
My team works hard to cut through red tape and deliver results for Rhode Islanders when it matters most. Like Scott in Warwick, who our office helped in resolving a delayed IRS tax refund.
We are here to help, give us a call at (401) 244-1201!
Cranston has dealt with flooding for years. Recently, the House and Senate approved my earmark to fund upgrades in the Garden Street area, to prevent flooding.
This is a step toward making RI infrastructure more resilient.
Founded in 1913, Delta Sigma Theta emerged when opportunities for Black women were deeply limited. Just weeks later, members marched for women’s suffrage in DC.
I was honored to attend their 'Through Her Eyes' event in Providence to celebrate DST’s legacy here & across the US.
ICE's actions in Minneapolis, and all across the country, are completely unacceptable.
Here is what we can do about it:
Last year when Trump began threatening to “take” other countries, I introduced the No Invading Allies Act - a bill to block Trump from sending troops to seize Greenland, Panama, or Canada.
It is unbelievable we even need to do this, but we have to take him at his word.
I met last night with the Foreign Ministers of Denmark and Greenland, along with dozens of Reps from both parties, to express my strong opposition to President Trump’s desire to “take ownership” of Greenland.
In 2025, I introduced 17 bills to make life better for RIers – including legislation to guarantee paid vacation for all workers, crack down on wage theft, and ban Members of Congress (and the President!) from trading stocks.

This is the letter a RI family received: their health care premiums are going up 44% - an extra $886 a month for two working parents and two kids.
This is why the Senate must urgently pass the Affordable Care Act funding the House approved last week and bring health care cost relief.
Big companies trap consumers in recurring subscriptions they never wanted, then make them nearly impossible to cancel.
That’s why I’m co-leading the Unsubscribe Act with @repmarktakano.bsky.social to require clear billing and simple cancellation.
Things that don’t help people pay their bills: Trump renaming the Kennedy Center, invading Venezuela, building a ballroom, or hawking crypto.
2025 was one of the weakest years for job growth in years.
I join my colleagues on the Homeland Security Committee in calling for Secretary Noem to testify under oath about the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis.
The chaos in Minneapolis is the result of policies from the top – and the American people deserve accountability.
As Congress returned to legislative business this week, I want to hear directly from you.
