Everyone knows someone who has been impacted by cancer, or they have been impacted themselves. Matt from @acscan.bsky.social has a good idea: Put our foot on the gas and fund research and care for those battling cancer.
It was good spending time with @federalreserve Chairman Powell during his visit to Rhode Island today. In order to avoid the hyperinflation and corruption that has plagued countries that politicized their central banks, the Fed must remain independent.
Today I met with my Environment & Energy Advisory Committee to discuss the latest on Revolution Wind, our work to protect environmental protection programs from Trump administration cuts, and to discuss strategy for lowering costs sustainably for consumers.
Great to join IBEW Local 99 in Cranston to welcome IBEW President Kenneth Cooper. Rhode Island is a state that values hard working and supports organized labor. I am proud to stand with those in the labor movement working to build our state and strengthen the American middle class.
This is the right outcome. Revolution Wind is 80% complete and will deliver much needed low cost energy to the grid. And, as was apparent when I asked an admin official about the stoppage in the Nat Resources Cmte - they had no clear argument for stopping the project. www.cnbc.com/2025/09/22/j...
Everyone should be able to take time off to care for a new child or a sick loved one without risking their job or paycheck. Proud to be an original cosponsor of the FAMILY Act, which will finally guarantee paid family and medical leave nationwide.
Calamari is Rhode Island’s official state appetizer and is the star of the Narragansett Calamari Festival & Cook-Off! It is always a great time celebrating local food and the traditions that make our state so awesome.
Too many workers win their vote to unionize only to get stalled by delay tactics when bargaining for fair wages and benefits. The Faster Labor Contracts Act fixes that by requiring timely negotiations. Proud to cosponsor this bill to make sure a “yes” vote means a real contract.
Narciso Barranco has lived in California for 30 years. He and his wife, a U.S. citizen, raised three Marines. Yet masked ICE agents ambushed and detained him at work. Is this how we treat the families of those who serve? www.nytimes.com/2025/09/17/u...
Today’s National Tradesmen Day. 🛠️ We honor the bricklayers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians & more who keep RI running. As Co-Chair of the @LaborCaucus.House.Gov Building Trades Task Force, I’ll keep fighting for fair pay & apprenticeship programs to train the next generation.
I rose for the 42nd time on the House floor to demand the Trump Administration restore funding for life-saving food aid to malnourished children. I hope that every speech will be my last, because starving kids cannot wait another day.
