Thank you to Virginia Union University for awarding me an honorary Doctor of Laws! I’ve represented VUU for over 20 years, first in the General Assembly and now in Congress. I’ve always felt like part of the family — this makes it a little more official. 🎓

Each semester, Team McClellan works with phenomenal interns who support our daily operations. Their work allows us to continue making an impact on the communities we represent. A huge thank you to my Spring 2026 interns for their service to Virginia’s Fourth! We’re excited to see what you do next.

Republicans’ Big Ugly Law left millions without guidance on how to complete new paperwork and jump through administrative hoops to stay covered by Medicaid. That’s why I joined @reptroycarter.bsky.social to introduce a bill to help recipients navigate new barriers to enrollment and stay covered.

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. Want to buy your mom a bouquet to express your love and gratitude? Thanks to Trump’s tariffs, flower costs have gone up 16% compared to one year ago.
Trump’s tariffs are driving up costs across the economy. Even Mother’s Day is getting more expensive this year, with flower prices up 16%. @groundwork.bsky.social's Liz Pancotti says wages aren’t keeping up with prices, adding pressure to already-strained household budgets.
This past year, we’ve seen our communities upended as chaos continues in Washington. Join me MONDAY, May 11th, at 7 PM ET for a tele-town hall where I’ll share my work in 2026, hear your stories and answer your questions directly! RSVP below ⬇️

To celebrate #SmallBusinessWeek, I held a roundtable with the Southern Virginia Chamber of Commerce and visited the Small Business Vendor Fair at Virginia State University to discuss access to health care, the economy, tariffs and other challenges facing small businesses in the Tri-Cities area.

This year, I secured over $10 million to benefit communities across Virginia’s Fourth. This week, I presented over $1 million to the City of Hopewell for stormwater infrastructure and over $1 million to Virginia State University to launch its Center for Generative AI and Industrial Cybersecurity.
