Celebrated Foster Forward’s phenomenal work supporting Rhode Island youth and families at their 30th Annual Gala. They’ve done incredible work supporting and improving Rhode Island’s child welfare system — changing lives every step of the foster care journey.
Joined advocates, families & those in recovery at the Rally for Recovery in Providence. I spoke about expanding naloxone access w/ efforts like my bipartisan HOPE Act, which puts naloxone in public places, and building a future without stigma where everyone has a second chance.
The Newport International Boat Show is back this weekend!🛥️ Proud to champion the growth of Rhode Island’s Blue Economy, workforce development, and innovation in the marine industry with the RI Marine Trade Association.
Visited with a great group of Rhode Island small business owners and community leaders at the Diversity Business Exhibit.    Even got a signed copy of young RI entrepreneur Hasana Spellman’s custom designed notebook!
The new federally-funded updates at the Port of Davisville will turbocharge Rhode Island’s Blue Economy through: 🦺Supporting good jobs 💡Spurring innovation ⚡Lowering energy costs   It’s a major win for the Ocean State to increase shipping capacity and secure our role as a renewable energy hub.
🚨Bringing $8 million for mental health services back to Rhode Island 🚨 Grateful for the partnership to support our community.
NEW: $8M for Bradley Hospital’s dedicated mental health professionals to boost research & strengthen services. This federal grant will help build a new facility to improve pediatric psychiatric research & make it easier to access top-notch services in one centralized, modern facility.
Helped defeat an amendment to further restrict offshore wind in the annual defense bill yesterday with @repjoecourtney.bsky.social and @magaziner.house.gov. We must keep pushing to protect working Rhode Islanders.
An industrial painter from Pawtucket was looking forward to joining the roughly 1,000 local union workers that have raked in 2 million hours building a new wind farm off Rhode Island’s coast.
Funding for care professionals is at risk from cuts to Medicaid in Trump’s Big, Ugly Law. This #DSPweek, I took to the House floor to urge my Republican colleagues to protect health workers like Amy from Woonsocket and roll back Medicaid cuts.
On September 11, 2001, our nation was forever changed by the terrorism that took lives in New York, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon.   We remember those lost and the brave first responders who answered the call. In grief and in strength, we remain one nation.
Too many Americans have died from opioid overdoses. That’s why I announced the bipartisan HOPE Act co-led with Congressman McDowell at the 4th Annual Congressional Naloxone Training to ensure naloxone is available in public places & save lives.
That's why I'm: ✅Working on legislation to reassert Congress's tariff authority ✅Fighting tooth and nail to protect health care ✅Doing everything in my power to lower costs
Reliable and accessible ocean data supports:   🌩️Extreme weather warnings 🌎Climate projections ⚡Energy 📸Tourism 🚢Shipping   Proud to pass an amendment in the Science, Space, and Technology Committee to protect the integrity of our ocean data infrastructure.
Trump’s putting hundreds of Rhode Islanders out of a job because he’s weirdly afraid of windmills. Took to the House floor to stop an insane, falsehood-laden amendment to the NDAA that would create economic pain for RIers and jack up costs for working families as we head into winter. WATCH ⬇️📺
Since 2022, the 988 Lifeline has helped over 28,000 Rhode Islanders in times of crisis. This #988Day, I thanked providers of essential behavioral support and spoke against Trump administration cuts to agencies that support mental health care. If you or someone you know needs help, call 988 now.
With Trump's stop-work order threatening over a thousand union jobs on RI's 80% complete offshore wind project, we’re aligned in the fight to protect the economic livelihoods of workers and their families.
