60 years ago today, Medicare and Medicaid became law.
Since then, these programs have made health care a reality for hundreds of millions, helping people live with dignity, security, and hope.
Democrats have never stopped fighting to keep this promise – and we never will.

15 million people kicked off their health care. Trillions added to the national debt.
Republicans are playing a dangerous game and putting your future on the line.
The final verdict of the cost of Republicans’ harmful bill?
$3.4 TRILLION and millions kicked from their health care.
The American people do not deserve this cruelty.

Republicans are betting on billionaires and gambling with America’s future.
Ways and Means is heading west this week.
When Democrats got to work and expanded health care, a record number of Americans enrolled in plans and saw their costs go down.
Republicans are reversing our progress, and now, Americans in the ACA marketplace could see 75% increases in their premiums.

Republicans did nothing but break promises in their ugly law:
❌ No tax on tips? Still taxed, only temporary and limited deductions.
❌ No tax on overtime? Still taxed, only partial and temporary deductions.
❌ No tax on Social Security? Not even close.

More hospitalizations + fewer doctors = unnecessary lives put at risk due to Republicans’ cuts.
Billionaire tax breaks shouldn’t be funded on the backs of working people and their health care.

Social Security is a lifeline for tens of millions. Using it for misleading political messaging is reckless and undermines the trust the agency has built with the American people for nearly 90 years.

5 years ago today, we lost one of the greats.
John Lewis dedicated his life fighting to make America a better and more just place, showing us how kindness and forgiveness are what truly make a person strong and great.
We miss him every day.
There’s more to policy than what makes headlines, and that’s why @waysmeanscmte.bsky.social is breaking down the Ways and the Means of how the sausage gets made in our new Substack.

The Republican tax bill attacks hospitals in Massachusetts. It cuts off revenue, cuts jobs, and cuts lifesaving care for thousands.

Today's @wamcradio.bsky.social Congressional Corner with Rep. Richard Neal is now up!

Leader @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social has been holding the floor for over 8 hours because he—and every single Democrat—knows just how disastrous this bill is for the American people.
No matter what happens today, Democrats and I won’t stop fighting for a brighter future for every American.
Dwight Evans has dedicated over 45 years of public service fighting for fairer and safer communities — carrying Philly’s spirit and resilience in everything he does.
His advocacy and moral compass have made Congress, PA, and the nation stronger.
Wishing my friend and his family all the best ahead.
Democrats are committed to defending and strengthening Social Security and Medicare for every worker, every retiree, and every generation to come.
My statement on today’s Social Security and Medicare Trustees Reports: democrats-waysandmeans.house.gov/media-center...
Social Security and Medicare are essential commitments to the American people.
The Trump Administration’s current assault on the Social Security Administration is not a glitch or a misstep — it’s a feature of the Republican playbook and is a backdoor benefit cut.
2/ And for what? To give the top 0.1% an extra $700 per day, while those making less than $50,000 get less than $1 per day.
1/ Nothing is off the table for Republicans when it comes to delivering another tax cut for billionaires.
❌ 16 million Americans will lose their health care
❌ 17 million children will be denied the full value of the Republicans' Child Tax Credit
❌ $300B will be cut from SNAP
The rich right now in America do not need a tax cut.
Republicans and I could agree on a lot more things if they agreed people making under $400,000 should get a tax relief, not those making over $400,000.
