Trump and Republicans' govt shutdown and refusal to fully fund SNAP isn't just leaving families hungry.
It's also threatening the small businesses who feed them and destroying local economies.
Republicans must end their government shutdown NOW and keep our families fed.
It is damning that it took a court order for Trump to act on SNAP during Republicans' govt shutdown.
And he is still only funding partial benefits for families who need food assistance.
Trump must FULLY fund SNAP benefits and Republicans should end this shameful shutdown NOW.
We're sounding the alarm on the crisis facing families and small business thanks to Trump and Republicans' government shutdown.

Trump's refusal to fund SNAP is harming our families and small businesses alike.
I'm convening SNAP-dependent food sellers to sound the alarm.

It's been over a month that federal workers & contractors have gone without pay.
They've had to take out loans, work side gigs, & visit food pantries to make ends meet.
Why? Because Trump & Republicans refuse to negotiate to reopen the govt & save healthcare for millions.
Our federal workers & contractors are headed into another month without pay.
I shared a meal with a few @unitehere.org workers, many of whom work in food service, to hear how this GOP shutdown has impacted them.
My bill would ensure they get their rightful backpay once the govt reopens.
Democrats are in this shutdown fight because healthcare is on the line.
Healthcare is a human right and accessing it is literally a matter of life and death.
Here's how much premiums will skyrocket in the #MA7 if Trump & Republicans get their way:
Trump and Republicans' govt shutdown could leave families in the #MA7 hungry.
100K households. 50K children. 44K individuals with disabilities. 38K elders.
To find a food bank or support your neighbors, visit Mass.gov/SNAPFreeze or call @projectbread.org at 1-800-645-8333.
There is a genocide & humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
The reports of mass killings, starvation, and displacement in El Fasher are horrifying.
The US must hold the UAE & any other arms dealers to the RSF accountable and act urgently to save lives.
1 month of Republicans' govt shutdown: Federal workers & contractors unpaid, empty food pantries, unpaid medical bills.
Tomorrow, 42M people could loose food assistance if Trump CHOOSES not to fund SNAP.
Republicans, we've been ready to reopen the govt & protect families. Step up.
Good. Trump had no excuse to cut off food assistance other than his own cruelty and contempt for families.
@usdagov.bsky.social must comply NOW and keep our communities fed.
We all know a hungry child can't learn.
But Republicans' government shutdown is threatening SNAP and Head Start—forcing parents out of work and kids to go hungry.
This hurt and harm is undeniable—and it's 100% preventable.
If Republicans fail to save healthcare:
Nearly 300,000 people in Massachusetts will face higher premiums and over 400,000 will lose healthcare entirely.
Trump & Republicans are making people sicker & more vulnerable.
They must reopen the govt & address this healthcare crisis.
Trump thought he could use the government shutdown he created to purge our federal workforce.
The law says otherwise.
This is a victory for our dedicated federal workers & we won’t stop until every federal worker unjustly fired by this Administration has been reinstated.
At Orchard Gardens, a public school in Roxbury, I asked the school nurses what the #1 issue is for kids who come to them.
Their response? Hunger.
Republicans are worsening this crisis every day through their government shutdown and policy CHOICES.
This is 100% preventable.
Delays, cancellations, & long lines.
The GOP shutdown is impacting our airports and leaving air traffic controllers & TSA agents without pay, including at Boston Logan.
Republicans need to reopen the government, pay federal workers, keep our airports running & skies safe.
Over a million Massachusetts residents rely on SNAP to put food on the table.
Trump has a pot of money to prevent this program from expiring on Nov. 1, but he's refusing to use it.
This is a cruel, unlawful & violent policy choice.
He must reverse course & Republicans must reopen the govt NOW.
It's been over a month since Adelita Grijalva was duly elected to Congress.
But Speaker Johnson is denying her constituents representation and refusing to swear her in because she is the last signature needed to force a vote to release the Epstein files.
Shameful.
I'm grateful that such a vibrant Jamaican, Haitian, Cuban, and Dominican community call the #MA7 home.
As Hurricane Melissa makes its way through the Caribbean, I'm keeping them and their loved ones close in prayer.
Trump's CHOICE to cut off food assistance in November isn't just cruel—it's illegal.
The money is there, and letting families starve during this GOP shutdown is a violent policy choice.
I'm glad @massago.bsky.social is suing to force this Administration to fund SNAP & keep families fed.
