Love is in the air, but so are rising prices. While you're picking out something sweet, you will likely be paying more for less. Due to Trump's tariffs, even the cost of boxed chocolates has jumped by 11.8%. I hope the future brings more love, fewer tariffs, and new leadership.
The numbers are in & unsurprisingly, Trump's disastrous policies have brought devastating consequences to our economy. In just the last year, we've lost 10,000 clean energy manufacturing jobs.  Costs are up & jobs are down – and Colorado families are paying the price.
No surprise that January 6th insurrectionists pardoned by Trump continue to break the law and make us all less safe. If you're willing to try to overthrow the US government, you're capable of a lot of other atrocious things, just like our president.
Mike Johnson has used every trick in the book to keep Trump's tariff regime in place while the rest of us foot the bill. But late last night, we defeated their latest procedural scheme to silence anyone who tries to speak out against Trump's tariff tirade.
House Republicans were back this week with another attempt to sell off our public lands to the highest bidder.  CO's public lands are essential to our economy, our well-being, and our way of life. That's why I voted against their bill that puts corporate profits ahead of our public lands.
Trump refuses to extend the temporary protected status of 350,000 Haitians here in the US. Many of these people are health care workers who take care of our most vulnerable seniors. I've joined Rep Pressley's petition to force a vote in the House to protect their status.
This is a glimmer of hope amid the chaos. Liam and his dad have finally been released. But the fact that a literal child was thrown behind bars in the first place is despicable. We need to keep speaking out to put an end to this lawless, rogue ICE operation.
Yet another shooting involving federal agents, this time in Arizona. We are seeing a terrifying pattern of escalating violence & no regard for human life. We need a full, independent investigation into every single incident involving DHS agents, & the removal of Kristi Noem NOW.
Now they are literally detaining kids & using them as bait. They said they would target violent criminals, but we know that is far from reality. My heart breaks for this 5-year-old who should be with his family. There aren't even words to describe the cruelty of Trump's lawless ICE operations.
Trump & Kristi Noem are asking Congress to hand them a blank check to continue to unleash ICE to terrorize our communities – and I'm a hell no. What's happening right now is unlawful, un-American, inhumane, and dangerous. I will vote against the funding that is bringing chaos across the country.
Trump didn't get the Nobel Peace Prize he wanted, so now, he's throwing a tantrum. Unfortunately for us and the rest of the world, it puts our safety, security, and alliances at risk. When will Republicans join us in holding him accountable before it's too late?
The Insurrection Act was never meant to be a tool for presidential intimidation and unchecked power. This move by Trump is straight out of the authoritarian playbook. Our military exists to defend us, not to turn on its own citizens and target immigrant communities.
My heart breaks for the Jewish community who have been targeted yet again. The surge in antisemitic attacks demands total condemnation from everyone. My thoughts are with the congregation and everyone affected by the arson attack in Mississippi and around the world. This must stop.
