Happy Opening Day⚾️ I'm on the House Floor voting right now but I wish I could be with everyone at Wrigley. Go, @cubsbot.bsky.social, go!
- Medicaid❤️🩹 for an additional 1.3 million Americans,
- Food stamps/SNAP🍎 for another 5.5 million Americans,
- Housing🏠️ for additional 1 million Americans, and
- Preschool🚌 for over 900,000 kids.
As of today, he’s now spent $28 billion. This spending spree has to stop.
In just the first two weeks of the Iran war, Trump spent at least $12 BILLION in U.S. taxpayer money.
That could have funded:
Today is #EqualPayDay! On average, women had to work all of 2025 and every day of 2026 till today, just to make the same amount men did in 2025.
The fight for equal pay is far from over. I'm proud to support my colleagues in the @demwomencaucus.bsky.social in the fight for fair wages.
I’ll be on @cbschicago.bsky.social at 7 Central this morning to discuss Trump’s war with Iran. Tune in!

My colleagues and I on the Food Safety Caucus are calling for the FDA to force a recall on Raw Farm cheese immediately. No one should get sick from their food.
Companies like Raw Farm are taking advantage of raw milk conspiracy theories in order to push their unsafe products. At least seven people have caught E. coli from their cheese.
The head of the International Energy Agency says Trump's war with Iran a "major threat" to the global economy.
This president is willing to create a worldwide economic depression—and a global energy crisis—with no plan to get us out of it.
If someone says Democrats are asking too much from ICE & CBP, they are lying to you. Republicans would rather keep pumping money into a billion-dollar deportation machine willing to abuse, kill, and kidnap anyone who gets in the way.
The choice is clear.
I want to dismantle ICE—but Republicans won't even agree to do the bare minimum. Body cameras, proper identification, and REAL warrants are standard requirements for any police officer in the United States. There's no reason we shouldn't expect this from federal agents.

Commuter rail is in crisis. My BRIDGE Act will create a brand-new program to dedicate $1.5 billion annually in fixing commuter rail bridges across the country.🚆
Senate Republicans are trying to appease Trump by passing the SAVE Act to ban vote-by-mail. The very same voting method Trump used earlier this month.
Vote by mail helps many Americans who can't get to the polls (including our own president).
As the DHS funding fight continues, I’m cosponsoring @delauro.house.gov's bill to fund TSA, FEMA, and other critical agencies within DHS, without giving another unneeded cent to ICE and CBP.
Republicans need to decide if they want to serve the American people more than they want to cater to Trump.
I don’t trust ICE in our airports any more than I did on the streets of Chicago. They are far more likely to cause fear than allay flyers' security concerns.
Read my full statement on ICE agents at O’Hare here.
This tragic incident serves as another reminder of why we need to invest in aviation safety. I urge the National Transportation Safety Board to complete their investigation as soon as possible, and I call on the FAA and Secretary Duffy to take swift action to ensure this never happens again.
I’m thinking of the families of the deceased pilots and the many injured passengers and crew members from the crash at LGA in New York last night.

As social media continues to evolve, I want to make sure I’m accessible to all my constituents. That’s why I’m on all major social media platforms.
Without his diligent work, the extent of Russia's interference in our elections would never have been uncovered, and my work on the Intelligence Committee would have been stymied for years.
I am thinking of his family during this difficult time.
Robert Mueller was a dedicated public servant whose tenure as FBI director after 9/11 undoubtedly saved countless lives. He was devoted to investigating criminal activity and defending the rule of law.
We have to stop putting debt on the nation’s credit card. I’m currently leading a Bipartisan Debt Reform Working Group of lawmakers dedicated to fixing the budget—without throwing money out the window.
