Local news has a long and storied history, regularly breaking huge news stories that would have been overlooked by national outlets. We need their reporting now more than ever. Join me in saying farewell and good luck to these veteran reporters, and in supporting local news in whatever way you can.
Chicagoans are about to miss out on some legendary reporters from our airwaves. Paul Lisnek, Sean Lewis, Dean Richards, Ray Cortopassi, Bronagh Tumulty, Judy Wang, Julian Crews, and Chris Boden have brought critical news to our city. They have also been my friends.
Trump continues to divide Americans, even our gold medal-winning Olympians. His mockery of the U.S. Women’s Hockey Team (who also won gold against Canada earlier last week) is unacceptable.
This is not what Team USA, America, or leadership is about.
In the past year, Trump has spent more time groveling to Putin rather than advocating for the Ukrainian people. I’m standing strong as a Co-Chair of the Ukraine Caucus in supporting Ukrainian freedom and democracy everywhere.
Four years ago today, Russia launched an illegal, full-scale invasion of Ukraine—beginning the longest and deadliest war in Europe since WWII.
Instead of listening to Trump drone on about how ‘great’ he is, I’m joining Indivisible Barrington at 6 pm CT to discuss how we can restore the American dream.
I hope you tune in at youtube.com/@repmikequigley.
Trump was elected based on his promises to help struggling Americans. Instead, we have seen him drive up costs through tariffs, hike premiums for health insurance, and deploy masked federal agents to kidnap and disappear innocent people.
The state of the union is unstable. Trump’s poor decisions have left Americans divided and uncertain about their futures.
I am NOT attending tomorrow's #StateoftheUnion. Here's why:
Congrats to the U.S. Men’s Hockey Team in winning GOLD in the Olympics yesterday!!🥇👏🏻🇺🇸
For Black History Month, I'm highlighting one Black Chicagoan a week and their outstanding contributions to our country. Today, I want to share the work of Cardinal Wilton Gregory—the first African-American Cardinal and youngest bishop in the United States.
Learn more about Cardinal Gregory here.
Today's SCOTUS decision is a win for the American people. Trump's tariffs are an unconstitutional tax on Americans that has driven up costs and strained small businesses.
Now it's time for Trump & Republicans to end their counterproductive trade wars and focus on making America more affordable.
I had the pleasure of meeting Eric this fall—we talked about expanding healthcare access and reauthorizing my Act for ALS law to keep funding ALS research. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and colleagues.
Rest in peace, Mr. Dane.
I'm saddened to hear about the passing of actor and humanitarian Eric Dane.
Despite learning he had ALS just 10 months ago, Eric spent his last months on earth advocating for the greater ALS community.
Congratulations, to the U.S. Women’s Hockey Team in winning GOLD against Canada yesterday!👏🏻🥇🇺🇸
I’m continued to be amazed at their dedication to this sport and to our country.
#olympics #hockey
Today, Chicagoans looking to buy a home need 3.5% MORE income to afford a median-price unit, compared to a year ago.
To lower housing prices and get through this housing crisis, we need to build, build, build across Chicagoland.
POTUS is putting his face on the Justice Department, which should be actively investigating his connection to Epstein.
This is not the work of an independent and impartial justice system.
The U.S. Women's Hockey Team is about to play Canada in this year's #Olympics gold medal match! Go Team USA! #GoForTheGold 🥇
Trump’s immigration crisis is harming kids and families. 20% of childcare workers are immigrants—driving providers out and causing childcare shortages across the country.
@warren.senate.gov, @duckworth.senate.gov, and I are standing up for the workers our families depend on.
They were left stranded in Mexico with no food, no housing, and no support.
I’m backing my colleague @joaquincastrotx.bsky.social in his fight to get justice for them.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
