Acting #ICE Director Todd Lyons just resigned—after leading the unlawful abuse, detainment, and killing of American citizens and our immigrant friends.
While I hope the next director is an improvement, I'm not optimistic. More below.

Yesterday, I got to meet with some seniors from Main South High School during their visit to DC for the We the People @civiced.org competition.

I was sad to learn that Barbara Flynn Currie, former Majority Leader in our State House of Representatives, passed away last night. As the first female leader in the IL GA Rep. Currie paved the way for the many women in politics today.

I also recently introduced my bill to reauthorize the ACT for ALS: a program I started in 2021 to fund five years of vital research and access to promising therapies. The Energy and Commerce Committee is going to review the bill tomorrow—I look forward to working with them to support these programs!
This weekend, I got to attend the @lesturnerals.bsky.social Hope Through Caring Gala. In 2025 alone, the foundation raised over $1 MILLION to support #ALS care and research on the disease.
Due to antisemitism rising rapidly around the world, 2025 was the deadliest year for antisemitic attacks since 1994.
On Yom HaShoah, we honor the millions of Jewish lives taken during the Holocaust and recommit to fighting antisemitism in every way possible.
Americans have already lost trust in Congress, and behavior like this only deepens that distrust. Those of us in Congress who believe in honest public service must clearly and unequivocally condemn wrongdoing. The American people deserve better.
I strongly support law enforcement investigations in New York and in any other jurisdiction that chooses to conduct one.
This behavior should not be tolerated in any workplace, let alone Congress, and I'm glad Swalwell has chosen to resign.
I'm shocked and appalled by the deeply disturbing allegations against Rep. Swalwell. First and foremost, my thoughts are with the victims who were brave enough to come forward. As I said on @ms.now on Saturday, no one is above the law.
Metra just announced its 2026 construction plan—but there are still no federal funds dedicated to maintaining and fixing commuter rail bridges.
The BRIDGE Act, my bill with @duckworth.senate.gov, will establish a brand-new $1.5 billion grant program to close the gap and fix bridges used by Metra.
That's why I support removing Trump from office by any legal means. He does not get to throw the world into chaos and stay in the Oval Office.
America is no better off than it was before the Iran War. Extremists are still in charge, gas prices are through the roof, and 13 American service members are dead. And the Commander-in-Chief threatened to kill an entire country.
