Some good news just in time for beach days this summer! ☀️☀️☀️   My bill to expand innovation for FDA-approved sunscreen ingredients has delivered real progress by giving Americans new options to protect from sun damage & helping prevent countless cases of skin cancer.
Pres Trump saying ‘I love the inflation’ is proof he’s wicked out of touch. His chaos makes prices higher & causes American families to suffer the very real financial pain of Trump’s tariffs. Maybe it's bc his pals are billionaires?
Nearly every day the past 100 days, Trump has claimed a peace deal with Iran was "imminent." Today: new airstrikes, still no deal. Our troops are risking their lives, and Americans are bearing the costs of a conflict they did not want and have gained nothing from. Trump’s war must end.
Over $50 million in federal investments at work here at The Flynn where we celebrated 178 new, #AffordableHomes for RIers. I’m fighting for effective policies & wise investments to lower housing costs & increase the supply of affordable homes across RI.
Saddened by the tragic loss of Pulitzer and Bancroft Prize winning historian and professor emeritus at Brown University, Gordon S. Wood. A devoted scholar, National Humanities Medalist and upstanding community member, he shaped our understanding of America’s history and ideals.
RI is known for clean, beautiful, world-class beaches & we want to keep it that way! That’s why I champion BEACH Act grants. This year I delivered another $210,000 for RI’s beach water quality monitoring and public notification programs.
Ahoy! With the historic Bristol Fourth of July parade just weeks away, proud to announce the U.S. Navy will be sending up #USSWichita to the Ocean State. Looking forward to welcoming the ship’s top-notch sailors as RI celebrates #America250!
Wearing orange for #GunViolenceAwareness. Too many of our communities, including here in RI, have been upended by preventable gun violence. That’s why I’ll never stop fighting for real change & #gunsense progress to protect our communities.
82 years ago, U.S. & Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy and forever changed the course of history. On #DDay82, we remember their uncommon courage & incredible sacrifice and we honor their enduring legacy of service & commitment to freedom.
Our goal is to create a brighter future for the next generation and Project GOAL scores big for the health, safety, & well-being of RI students. I’m proud to support this great organization & help expand their impact.
‘If you build it they will come,’ not only applies to baseball, but hoops too. Pleased to help Central Falls open the new Francis L. Corrigan Basketball Courts. Big shoutout to Mayor Rivera & everyone who contributed to this awesome project! #HoopDreams
Buying a home is the cornerstone of the American dream, but for many Americans, it’s out of reach. Senate Democrats supported @reed.senate.gov amendment to the Republican budget bill to make affordable housing more accessible, but Senate Republicans blocked it.
Unrepentant & unreformed ICE & DHS don’t need another $62 billion. But Americans need more affordable homes. I offered an amendment that would build & rehab 2.1 million homes nationwide instead of constructing more ICE detention warehouses in communities that don’t want them. Republicans refused
Senator @reed.senate.gov calls Bill Pulte's appointment as director of national intelligence "a cynical pick of a dangerously unqualified individual. President Trump’s desire to surround himself with unqualified ‘yes men’ is one of the factors that misled our nation into disastrous war with Iran."
The DNI is supposed to ensure the analytic independence of the intelligence community and speak truth to power when necessary. There is zero evidence Mr. Pulte can fulfill either of these tasks.
