Rural communities are getting hit hard by the already rising health care costs. That’s why I joined my colleagues in calling on Speaker Johnson and Leader Thune to extend the ACA tax credits to prevent skyrocketing costs further.     We must reopen the govt, lower costs, and protect health care.
I had the honor of attending the celebration of life for my friend, Harold Matzner. It is with a heavy heart that we honor the life of “Mr. Palm Springs,” whose commitment to community service and philanthropy will leave behind a lasting legacy on the Coachella Valley and beyond.
Because of Speaker Johnson & Republicans, a 60-year-old couple would see their health care costs jump by $1,530 per month, if they let the ACA tax credits expire.   I’m fighting to open the government, lower your costs, & prevent your health care expenses from skyrocketing even further.
I met with Labor Union & Resource Leaders to understand the struggles federal workers are facing during the government shutdown & to connect them with resources. I’m focused on helping federal workers, opening the government, protecting health care, & preventing health care costs from skyrocketing.

I know the LIHEAP program can be the difference between keeping the lights on or not. That is why I introduced the House Energy Assistance in Times of Shutdown Act, or HEATS Act. I am working to ensure working people don’t lose access to energy assistance during a government shutdown.
Federal workers have or are at risk missing of a paycheck. We must open the government, protect healthcare & lower costs, and get federal workers paid immediately. I organized a virtual Government Shutdown Resource Fair to connect federal workers with community resources to meet their basic needs.
The Republican shutdown is driving up health care costs, with families getting notices of major premium hikes. I'm fighting to reopen the government and extend Affordable Care Act tax credits to prevent your health care costs from skyrocketing. I want to hear your story at Ruiz.House.Gov/Shutdown
I brought together Federal Labor Union Leaders & Community Resource Leaders to coordinate support for federal workers during the shutdown. House Republicans refuse to go back to work, open the government, & protect health care, I am focused on safeguarding federal workers’ overall well-being.
Airports are facing delays as TSA & air traffic controllers go without pay. This isn’t about flight schedules, it’s about people’s livelihoods. Republicans need to stop the games, & instead come to the table to open the government, protect health care, & prevent health care costs from skyrocketing.
I value the health of working families. The bottom line is: Republicans would rather see tax breaks for billionaires than provide health care to those who need it most. I’m working to get Congress back to work and prevent massive hikes in health care costs.
As Hurricane Priscilla approaches, here’s how you can stay safe: 📡 Monitor weather updates 🏠 Secure your home 🚫 Avoid flood-prone areas 🛟 Check on family, friends & neighbors 🧰 Prepare emergency supplies Your safety is my top priority. Follow local guidance & stay alert!
