It was a pleasure to visit NLVFD’s new Fire Training Center with NLV Fire Chief Joseph Calhoun! While I was there, I saw the indoor classroom space, training grounds, and their new ambulance simulator – the only one in Southern Nevada that replicates the back of a fire department rescue unit.
Our servicemembers and their families sacrifice so much to protect our freedom, which is why it’s so important that we make sure they have access to the community and support they need while living on base.
$686 million – that’s how much extra Nevada families have paid at the gas pump since the start of Donald Trump’s war in Iran. Trump needs to end this war in a way that keeps Americans safe, doesn’t reward Iran, and ensures the Strait of Hormuz remains open so Nevadans can afford gas again.
Each year, I have the great privilege of nominating Nevadans to attend one of the United States Service Academies, giving students the opportunity to serve our nation while receiving a top-notch college education. Our application portal is open through October 31st. Apply today:
Donald Trump’s reckless economic policies and war in Iran are driving up the price on almost everything, squeezing American families’ budgets. And what does Trump think about it? He “loves the inflation.”
Congress came together in a bipartisan way to punish Vladimir Putin and increase pressure on Russia to end its brutal and unprovoked war against Ukraine. Then last night, Trump brazenly threw a lifeline to Putin to try to cover for his failed policies that have made gas prices soar. (1/2)
Breaking News: President Trump signed an executive order to exempt Russia from new sanctions legislation that Congress passed last month. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/16/u...

Trucks that deliver groceries to the store run on diesel – and when diesel prices rise, that means your grocery bill rises with them. Donald Trump’s war in Iran is trickling down to make everything you buy more expensive.
The price of the fuel, used by farmers and truckers, is up more than 75% since the start of the Iran war in late winter. Diesel costs have become a particular concern for economists, who say higher diesel fuel costs trickle down into “just about everything.”
Nevadans are sick of paying more for health care, gas, groceries, and rent because of Trump’s tariffs and war in Iran.  While Trump continues to insist the economy is great, Nevadans know the truth: his leadership has cost them $4,400 extra since he took office. Here’s how it breaks down:
Is anyone surprised that hardworking American families have been footing the bill for Trump’s tariffs?    You can thank Trump for the higher prices you’re paying on almost everything.
The Trump Admin decided to let $232 million in federal funding expire, shortchanging funding set aside to help families in rural communities buy homes. This funding would have helped families get the financing they need to afford a home they can call their own.
