Special thanks to Sea-Bird Scientific for visiting my D.C. office today. Headquartered in Bellevue, they’ve spread systems for oceanographic research and water quality testing across the world.

This is a step in the right direction for workers’ rights.
It’s difficult to afford basic necessities, from groceries to housing. We need a minimum wage that reflects the affordability crisis in our country. Now, more Americans will earn a minimum wage of $15 or more than workers who earn the federal minimum wage of $7.25.

The Fly-In is back!
Kicking off season 2 with New Dem @adamsmith.house.gov, top Democrat on @democrats-armedservices.house.gov.

Donald Trump is weaponizing the Department of Defense to go after his political enemies, rather than as an enforcement mechanism for good governance.
If President Trump keeps saying, "Screw the law," it will kill our constitutional republic.
My op-ed 'Maduro is gone. Now what?" is live. Read more about the implications of President Trump's actions in Venezuela here: www.seattletimes.com/opinion/madu...

@adamsmith.house.gov warns of the implications here at home and around world with President Trump’s approach to Maduro, Venezuela, the Western Hemisphere, and geopolitics in his Sunday op-ed in @seattletimes-rss.bsky.social Opinion.
This Trump Administration has a complete lack of respect for the rights of an individual citizen and has created an environment where officers are looking to escalate. That needs to change.
I will stand on the side of ensuring a self-governing Federal Reserve, and I hope all of my colleagues regardless of party will back our central bank as well.
Donald Trump is spearheading a political, pointless investigation into the Federal Reserve, jeopardizing the independence of the agency as well as the financial stability of our country. It is Congress' role to preserve the Fed's autonomy and not bend the knee to an autocratic president.

Rep. Smith: Trump is saying that the law doesn't apply to him. When you have a leader of a country who says, 'I can do whatever I want, no law, international or domestic, is a check on that,' I would challenge someone to explain to me why that isn't an authoritarian fascist approach to governing.
I joined @simonwdc.bsky.social on @hopiumchronicles.bsky.social to discuss the Senate's response to regime change in Venezuela.
I spoke with MS Now about President Trump's governance.

A new interview with Rep. @adamsmith.house.gov
The claim that the ICE agent was acting is self-defense is a load of crap. He unlawfully killed an American citizen.
I'm voting to extend the Affordable Care Act subsidies, but there's still more work to do to bring down the cost of health care.
These Community Project Funding investments reflect what our communities are asking for — cleaner water, safer neighborhoods, and more opportunities for young people to succeed. I will continue fighting to ensure federal resources are directed where they can make the greatest local impact.
Great news for Washington's Ninth District. Today, the House of Representatives passed a package that will deliver $6,316,000 in community project funds back to our community in WA-09.
Trump has approached law enforcement with no accountability, no rules, and no responsibility, and the result was the tragic shooting in Minnesota yesterday.
