A beautiful district work week in New Mexico – including fiestas, travel across the district, a town hall, meetings with tribal and local leaders, and conversations about the future of our state and communities. So grateful for each and every one of you!
Happy back-to-school! 📚✏️🍎 Today we visited Stapleton Elementary in Rio Rancho! Grateful to all of our teachers, educators, admins, school bus drivers, cafeteria workers, maintenance and custodial staff who take care of our students and are helping grow the future of our state every single day!
Last several months over 21,000 New Mexicans, including over 10,000 children, have lost access to food assistance because of Trump‘s Big Ugly Bill. New Mexico is stepping up! Calling on state leaders to continue to make state investments and anyone who can to help support our food banks!
Since the passage of HR1, more than 21,000 New Mexicans have lost access to food, including 10,000 kids. That’s why we’re at Roadrunner Food Bank—to talk about hunger in NM and how we fight back. It’s all hands on deck, and we’re proud to be on the front lines with our amazing community partners!
ICYMI: I introduced the Indigenous Students Excel through Parity Acts to strengthen BIE & Tribal schools by increasing teacher pay & ensuring tribal schools have the resources they need to support our students. This is important step towards making sure tribal schools have the funding they deserve!
A joyful celebration for Bishop David Cooper of New Hope on Friday night in ABQ! Congrats on celebrating 50 years of ministry & service to our community. We are grateful for your leadership and to all of the clergy, leaders, and friends who joined from all over NM and the country to celebrate! 🙏❤️
THIS is Latina Power! ✊💕 As the first Latina to serve our nation’s highest court, Justice Sotomayor has opened the door & kept it open for Latinas across the country. She is a reminder that standing up for the rights of working families, immigrants, women, and LGBTQ+ folks is the just thing to do.
Four years ago we made the CHIPS and Science Act law! This law is investing BILLIONS into domestic manufacturing, research, technological innovation, and national security, & are supporting homegrown innovation and investments in our colleges and workforce. This is the type of leadership we need!
The Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women crisis is impacting communities across the country. Behind every statistic is a real person whose family is still searching and asking questions. Yet, this Administration is proposing cuts to services and funding. This is inexcusable. We are fighting back!
Senate Republicans failed the American people and Survivors by voting to confirm Blanche. This is a dark day for our democracy and system of checks and balances. These votes will be remembered. This is not the end. We will continue fighting to hold everyone involved in this cover-up accountable.
Happy first day of school to everyone who went back to school today across APS! As an Albuquerque Public School grad myself (Go Cibola Cougars! 🐾) — I know it’s a big day! I hope you had an amazing first day, have the best year ever, and learn so much! 📚🚌✏️📓✂️
BREAKING NEWS out of the Senate: Todd Blanche confirmation moving forward TODAY.  And, why every Senator should be a Hell NO! Also—Epstein and Zorro Ranch news out of New Mexico. The water and drought situation. Big Bend and Chaco Canyon. The economy. And our work for NM every single day!
EVERY single Senator should be a Hell No! -Failed to comply with the Epstein law -Exposed Survivors -Tried to give Trump IRS immunity -Tried to give Jan 6’ers & others $1.8 billion in taxpayer dollars -Acting as the President’s personal lawyer not the American people’s top law enforcement agent
It’s back to school! We’ve secured millions from early childhood education centers at Sandia Pueblo, Ruidoso & Mescalero, new community school at To'hajiilee, STEM pipelines for students at UNM, & federal legislation to support New Mexico’s universal childcare and early childhood education programs.
