Melanie A. Stansbury

Melanie Ann Stansbury is an American politician and former ecology instructor serving as the U.S. representative for New Mexico's 1st congressional district since 2021. The district includes the majority of Albuquerque and most of its suburbs. A Democrat, Stansbury previously served as a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives for the 28th district from 2019 to 2021.

As the Trump Administration and GOP are trying to dismantle the Department of Education—we stand with our schools, our students, and our teachers! Department of Ed was born out of the Civil Rights Movement and is as important as ever. We stand with every public school and kid across America! ✊
As I get on a plane this morning to head back to DC—it’s been such a joyful weekend back home giving thanks with family and friends. It’s been an absolutely gorgeous fall—and I wanted to share a few of the moments I’ve been so grateful to experience the last few months. 🌻🍁🦋🌈
But, this work isn’t just about adoptions—it’s about ensuring animals are well cared for, have access to vet care and food, and families in need have support for their beloved friends.   Join us and volunteer, help out, or adopt your new best friend! 🐶🐾
