It is with deep gratitude and a heavy heart that we honored the life and legacy of Senator Fred Harris.
His legacy lives on through the students he inspired, the lives he touched, and the justice he fought for every day. May we carry forward his vision for a more just and equitable world. 🕊️❤️
This is a major win!
To our immigrant communities—you are loved, you matter, and belong. ❤️
Some awesome news here in NM this week. We became the first state in the country to guarantee free, UNIVERSAL childcare for ALL families! And, our Creamland Dairy workers and Teamsters Local 492 reached a labor deal ending their strike!
This is what pro-family, pro-worker policies look like!
In NM, water is life.
I’m proud to join the entire NM delegation and other lawmakers in urging our fellow leaders in Congress to prioritize Indian water rights settlements and the passage of these bills.
We have a fundamental duty to uphold the U.S.’s trust and treaty responsibilities.
Friends, I know it’s been a difficult 24 hours. I’m keeping everyone affected in my prayers during this difficult time.
We’re wrapping up in D.C. and heading home to New Mexico for the weekend—where the work continues. Here’s the latest on the NDAA, Oversight, and what’s on tap for next week. ⬇️
Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11th. We honor the first responders, the heroes who ran toward danger, the families who lost loved ones, and the resilience of our communities that came together in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
May we never forget the sacrifices made on that day.
Political violence of any kind cannot be tolerated in a free and fair society. Rep Stansbury condemns the shooting of Charlie Kirk and is holding all those impacted in her prayers.
Not one toe stepped in D.C. City Hall. Not one consultation with City Council, law enforcement, or one public hearing.
Since the GOP seems more concerned with pleasing the White House and the affairs of D.C. than their own districts, they should run for Mayor in D.C. Until then, hands off! #FreeDC
Our servicemembers put everything on the line. I’m proud of our work to increase their pay, access to healthcare and food, and environmental clean up on tribal lands in this NDAA.
I ask my colleagues—don’t sink this bill with riders that endanger our military readiness and national security.
If Donald Trump is willing to lie about this…what else is he lying about?
From the Epstein cover-up to SCOTUS’s decision yesterday—there is corruption all around.
We’re two weeks out from a government shutdown, and Trump has seemingly spent more time calling Members of Congress to threaten against the disclosure of the Epstein files than trying to pass a budget.
Every worker deserves fair wages, health care, and the security of a good retirement.
That’s why I’m proud to stand in solidarity with the workers on strike at Creamland. When we say every worker deserves respect, we mean every worker. Plus, these guys make our green chile dip! ✊
I definitely did not have it on my bingo card that Members of Congress would be shielding pedophiles from accountability…
🚨Oversight Alert 🚨 Documents from the Epstein Estate have just dropped. Here’s what you need to know. We’ll leave no stone unturned. ⬇️
WHATS UP WITH THE ECONOMY ⬇️ Unemployment has risen to its highest level since the height of the pandemic to 4.3%.
And, this is the first negative month since Dec 2020. Is this what Trump meant when he said the U.S. will be “flooded with jobs?” 🤔
New Mexico, I hope you all have had a great time at the State Fair so far! What’s your favorite fair food? Comment down below.
And in case you didn’t know, New Mexico is on the map this year at the Smithsonian for our State Fair! Let's go, NM! 🤠

Some good news and some bad news: the economy is slumping, but NM is fighting back. A special session, a budget showdown, the Big Ugly Bill, the Epstein investigation, and justice for survivors—your week in review. ⬇️
Reposted byRep. Melanie Stansbury (NM-01)
Donald Trump is doing everything he can to cover up the Epstein files. @repstansbury.bsky.social and Oversight Dems will never stop fighting for justice for the survivors of Epstein’s sex trafficking ring.
No matter who you are, if you harmed women and girls, we will hold you accountable.
