We ARE better than this. We DON’T have to sweep the rug out from under millions of Americans who rely on Medicaid to survive. I’m fighting back on these harmful cuts, and want to hear from you if your health care is at risk of the Republican budget slashes.
The new state-of-the-art HQ is a huge upgrade from the former building, and will be a space for Latino entrepreneurs to start and grow businesses that benefit our West Michigan community. Can’t wait to see it in its final form!
After I helped secure an $850k grant for WMHCC’s new HQ, I was proud to take part in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility site — such a full circle moment! 👷‍♀️ 🧵
President Trump’s FY2026 budget proposes cutting LIHEAP—a program that helps West Michiganders pay their utility bills without sacrificing other necessities. I stand in support of fully funding LIHEAP and encourage my Republican colleagues to stand in support of their constituents and do the same.
There are few things more frustrating than going to book a reasonably priced hotel, then getting to the final checkout page and seeing additional fees. That’s why I proudly voted for the Hotel Fees Transparency Act, a bipartisan bill to make sure you see the ~actual~ price up front.
In his first 100 days in office, Trump has caused prices to RISE and stocks to DROP. And he says he’s just getting started. Check out my inaugural video for my new YouTube series, Straight Talk With Scholten, to hear me give it to you straight on Trump’s shrinking economy. youtu.be/Y356aV4gvkk
This Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we honor our AANHPI community members and uplift their strength, resilience, and incredible contributions to our West Michigan community.
Thanks to the leaders at Goodwill of West MI for keeping our community full of goodwill for the future. We shared a productive meeting about bolstering our workforce and giving back to the community.
TUNE IN TOMORROW! I’ll be sharing the kickoff video for my new YouTube series, Straight Talk With Scholten, where I’ll take the news of the day, things I’m working on in Congress, and more, and give it to you straight. It’ll be a great space for real talk about the issues that matter.
🎟️ This week, I proudly voted yes on the bipartisan TICKET Act — a bill I cosponsored in my first term to crack down on hidden fees and bring long-overdue transparency to ticket pricing. Whether it’s a concert or a Lions game, Michiganders deserve to see the full cost upfront.
This #InternationalWorkersDay, let’s reaffirm our commitment to supporting workers in ways that matter: ✅Guaranteeing paid leave for those who need it ✅Providing affordable, accessible childcare for working parents ✅Allowing unobstructed access to unions
It’s always a pleasure to host some of West Michigan’s best and brightest here in Washington. Thanks to the students from Kelloggsville High School for your interest in civic engagement, our country needs young leaders like you all!
I’m working hard to support manufacturing jobs and businesses back home in West Michigan so more of our parts and products can be American-made. I shared a productive conversation today with members of One Voice for Manufacturing, a leading voice for small- and medium-sized manufacturers.
Unprecedented. The economy actually SHRANK in President Trump's first 100 days. And he says he's "just getting started." We can't afford it. I'm fighting for the fiscal and governmental reforms Americans want and doing it in a responsible, pro-growth manner. www.wsj.com/livecoverage...
