It was a motion to table. I’m never voting for anything when I have 15 mins to read what I’m voting on. Every member of Dem leadership also voted to table. We will have a time for articles. And it needs to come out of committee.
Like I said, I need to be briefed. And no, I don’t think politicians’ rush to put something out on social is helpful. I’m most concerned about retaliation and I said what I said. Not sure what this has to do with me being a Meteorologist, but hey! Sunny and 96° tomorrow in IL17.
2/2 We must make sure Iran never builds a nuclear weapon. However, this attack may incite an escalation against Americans around the world. I am praying for the safety of our troops and urge the Trump administration to be transparent and accountable.
1/2 This evening, President Trump circumvented Congress and attacked Iran. As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, I await classified briefings to determine the operation’s success.
Earlier this year, I joined my colleagues in Congress to re-introduce a bill to protect workers and uplift their rights to organize. A strong workforce means a strong America.
Along the Illinois River, Peoria was a critical stop for those traveling through the Underground Railroad. Abolitionists operated safe houses to aid individuals on their journey to freedom. This Juneteenth, I’m proud to represent a district with a strong history of supporting emancipation.
When we stand up and speak loudly for our neighbors and our values, we develop stronger communities. So proud of everyone in #IL17 who showed up for #nokings this weekend!🇺🇸
Why we need 🏳️‍🌈 988 funding: 39% of LGBTQ+ young people consider suicide. 14% of non-LGBTQ+ young people consider suicide. 12% of LGBTQ+ young people attempt suicide. 6% of non-LGBTQ+ young people attempt suicide. Trump sinks to a new level of cruel today by nixing mental health help for kids.
You can’t spin this. The GOP wants to take money from sick people while giving tax breaks to millionaires. I’m all for finding fraud and waste. But kicking millions off food assistance and health insurance makes the problems worse. I will continue voting no on anything that hurts my neighbors.
He promised to lower costs on Day 1. But the policies from the GOP aren’t working. I’m working to cap prescription drug costs, lower energy bills, and grow wages with good-paying jobs. And I will work with anybody to keep bringing down costs.
In 2019, I found a BOGO online for a trip on Amtrak and my Dad and I went to Washington. It never occurred to me I could or would ever work in the Capitol. 6 years ago! But spending time as an adult with my Dad helped me understand my purpose. Thank you, Dad. One day is not enough for you. -Eric
