I was proud to support the federal grant program that helped make this project possible, and I’ll keep fighting to expand access to safe, affordable housing for families across our district. Thank you to all who made this project possible. Fortunate to be part of a remarkably generous community.
Great to join our St. Helena community to cut the ribbon on the new Pope Street Workforce Housing Project. This development will bring new affordable rental homes to our community and help ensure local workers can live where they work.
Had a great conversation with students at Davis High School about my path to public service, what it’s like working in Congress, and how young people can get involved in our democracy. Their questions and ideas give me a lot of hope for the future.
Groceries are already too expensive, and now fertilizer supply disruptions could push food prices even higher. Farmers are paying the price, and soon families at the checkout line will too. We need to end this administration's war in Iran and focus on delivering real relief for the American people.
Hosted an agriculture roundtable with Senator Chris Cabaldon to hear directly about the challenges facing our ag families. Our ag community feeds the world, and I’ll keep working with our state and federal partners to make sure they have the support they need.
I voted against creating ICE because I believed it lacked the guardrails necessary to prevent abuse of power, and sadly, those concerns have proven justified. ICE has become a rogue agency. We must hold leaders like Kristi Noem accountable and stop ICE from terrorizing communities across our country
Gas prices are rising because this president’s war in Iran has disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz — a vital waterway that carries about 20% of the world’s oil. We’re already spending over $1 billion a day on this illegal war, and now Americans are paying even more at the pump.
The only problem I have with Kristi Noem being fired as head of DHS is that she didn’t take Stephen Miller and the rest of this president’s thugs with her. ICE has become a rogue agency, and I'm fighting to hold them accountable and stop them from terrorizing our communities.
Thanks to the North Bay Leadership Council for hosting our conversation in Santa Rosa. We discussed the challenges coming out of Washington and the work we’re doing to strengthen our economy, invest in clean energy, tackle housing costs, and support North Bay communities.
In the next Congress, I will serve as Chair of the Health Subcommittee on the Ways and Means Committee, where I’ll help lead Democrats’ efforts to ensure every American has access to health care.
The talent, drive, and thoughtfulness of the students in our district never ceases to impress me. My Student Leadership Council has given the tools to success to more than 360 future leaders and counting.
This investment will expand safe, accessible transportation options for walkers, cyclists, and families — and it’s always great to see young families out on the trail pushing strollers or teaching their kids how to ride bikes.
War should never be started without a plan, without Congress, and without the American people. We’ve already lost seven American servicemembers and spent billions of dollars. As a combat veteran, I’m standing up to say: no more forever wars.
Had a great time speaking with 8th grade students at Robert Louis Stevenson Middle School in St. Helena. We talked about the Constitution, how Congress works, and the role each of us plays in our democracy.
