We lost Gabe Zimmerman in the same shooting 15 years ago that killed five others and injured 14, including former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. Gabe was the first congressional staffer killed in the line of duty. It was a devastating loss to his family, his colleagues, and the institution we serve.
Secretary Noem needs to resign, and ICE needs to get out of Minnesota.
15 years after the Tucson shooting, we remember the six lives lost, stand with the survivors, and recommit to preventing gun violence. Gabby Giffords has shown what courage and action can achieve, and our work is far from done.
Deeply concerned by ICE's killing of a woman in Minneapolis. These indiscriminate raids are scaring and hurting people across our country. Secretary Noem must immediately cease ICE operations in Minneapolis and investigate the shooting immediately. Enough is enough.

It’s day 7 of 2026 and there have been 8 mass shootings this year. That’s already more mass shootings than days in the year so far. That’s unacceptable. We need to keep guns out of the hands of those who are a danger to themselves or others.
Stood with Democratic veterans to oppose an unnecessary war in Venezuela. As a combat veteran, I opposed the war in Iraq, and I will oppose any military intervention in Venezuela. We will not send our military members to fight for oil.
I’ll continue fighting to protect our coastline and pursue energy policies that actually work for families.
This administration’s offshore drilling proposal puts our marine ecosystems and coastal economies at risk while offering little benefit to lower energy costs. I wrote oil spill response and cleanup laws when I was in the State Senate, and I know how devastating a spill would be for the North Coast.
Thank you, JT, for the work you’ve done to prepare for the Black History Month Celebration this year and for the last nine years of making a positive impact in our community.
James Thompson, founder of the Napa Black History Month Celebration at CrossWalk Church, has long been a strong voice for the black community in Napa.
Had the chance to tour Puertas Abiertas’ new building and learn more about the vital support they provide to Napa County’s Latino community. From health care to social services, they show up every day to serve our neighbors.
She continues to make history as the first Latina elected to the Board—and now as its first Latina Chair. I look forward to continuing to work with her to strengthen Sonoma County and address the impacts of federal funding cuts.
Congratulations to Rebecca Hermosillo on being selected Chair of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors! I’m incredibly proud of Rebecca. When she worked with me, she was a tireless advocate for Sonoma County and an outstanding leader in my Santa Rosa district office.
Greenland is not up for grabs. Denmark, a NATO ally, has rightly rejected the president’s claims, and so should we. It’s embarrassing and dangerous to suggest military force is on the table. I reject that outright and will oppose any attempt to use force in Greenland.

Grateful to everyone in American Canyon who showed up, asked thoughtful questions, and engaged in a great discussion about my work in Washington. It’s an honor to serve and fight for this community.
Mark Kelly served our country in combat and now serves faithfully as a U.S. Senator. Threatening to strip his rank or earned benefits for exercising his freedom of speech is cowardly and wrong.

Five years ago, our democracy was tested by a violent attack on the Capitol. The scars of that day are still felt. We honor the officers who stood their ground to protect the Capitol. Democracy endures because of their courage.
I was glad to work with him often on bipartisan efforts to improve life for our constituents, including to support our farmers, help prevent fires, and tackle the home insurance crisis. Jan and I have Doug’s wife Jill, their children, and Doug’s staff in our prayers. (2/2)
Saddened by the loss of my longtime colleague, Doug LaMalfa. Doug was a lifelong Northern Californian who loved his community (1/2)
On my way back to DC to bring down costs and fight against this administration's actions in Venezuela and threats to other countries.
