🚨UPDATE: Rümeysa Öztürk has now suffered three separate asthma attacks while in DHS custody. She has not received her required asthma medications—a violation of her fundamental right to medical care. This is cruelty, it is neglect, and it is a damning moral and legal failure.
Pressley, Warren, Markey Sound Alarm on Rümeysa Öztürk’s Medical Neglect, Renew Urgent Calls for Her Release (1/2):

“It is unconscionable that Rümeysa Öztürk—a young woman pursuing her education, exercising her First Amendment rights, and contributing to her community—remains detained by DHS. Her ongoing incarceration is not only a blatant violation of her constitutional rights to due process and free speech, but it is now an egregious denial of her fundamental right to medical care.
Pressley, Warren, Markey Sound Alarm on Rümeysa Öztürk’s Medical Neglect, Renew Urgent Calls for Her Release (2/2):

“According to her lawyer, Rümeysa has not received her required asthma medications and has now suffered three separate asthma attacks while in custody. This is cruelty, it is neglect, and it is a damning moral and legal failure.

“As her representatives in Congress, we demand DHS immediately provide Rümeysa with access to the health care she needs, and absent compelling evidence justifying her detention and the revocation of her status, we call for Ozturk’s release and the restoration of her visa. Every minute she remains in custody is another minute her health and rights are at risk, and DHS must move with urgency.”
This week, my Somerville constituent Rümeysa Öztürk was abducted in broad daylight by DHS officials and sent to Louisiana to be locked in a detention center. She has not been charged with any crime.

President Trump campaigned on lowering credit card costs, but his DOJ just cleared the way for an anti-competitive merger that would create America's largest credit card company. We know how this ends: big payouts for executives, higher costs for consumers and small businesses.
Public schools change students’ lives every single day, but Donald Trump is trying to dismantle our public education system. I asked, and you shared. Here are a few stories about America’s incredible public school teachers.
Our stories are our power – so share yours today. Public education has touched millions of Americans, and we’ve got to do everything we can to save it. www.warren.senate.gov/save-our-sch...
Today, I’m launching Save Our Schools – a campaign to bring people together and push back against Donald Trump's attacks on public education. We're fighting for an America where it's not just the kids of billionaires who get a good education, but every kid in every community.
DOGE is firing Social Security workers, closing offices, and pulling the plug on phone services, and it's hurting seniors like Ned. There’s nothing efficient about any of this — and it needs to stop.
For every person who needs insulin to stay alive, Donald Trump just gave big drug companies and pharmacy benefit managers a green light to keep ripping you off. It's outrageous.
The FTC has halted its lawsuit accusing OptumRX, CVS, and Express Scripts of breaking the law by inflating insulin prices. Trump illegally fired the two Democratic members of the commission, and now these corporations are going to get away with price gauging insulin.
I’m hearing from Social Security recipients in MA who’ve been marked as "not currently receiving payments,” on the Social Security website. Social Security is something you are legally entitled to. Elon's attack on Social Security is illegal—and it's hurting people.

Social Security is not charity or some giveaway. It's money people earned through years of hard work. Now, Trump and Musk want to rip that away to fund tax handouts for their billionaire buddies. So here's my message for them: get your hands off our Social Security. youtube.com/shorts/wTC_H...
The president is not a king. The Constitution could not be clearer: No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice. Donald Trump would rather fantasize about a fictional third term than do anything to lower costs for working families.
Rep. Joe Wilson and I sent a bipartisan letter urging the Trump Admin to change outdated Syria sanctions to give the people a fighting chance after Assad’s brutal rule and prevent instability in the region. The U.S. must act before it’s too late.
Republicans in Congress don't want you to know this. Behind closed doors, top Republican officials are greasing the wheels for tax breaks for billionaires and billionaire corporations by pushing a lie that they cost nothing. It's magic math — and we gotta call it out.
