4/7 Trump’s MOU gives Iran sanctions relief & oil revenue, while leaving enrichment limits, inspections, verification & Iran’s destabilizing regional activity for later. The Strait of Hormuz also remains as a point of leverage the intact extremist regime can use.
3/7 To be clear: I support an end to the fighting and would support an agreement that permanently prevents Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. But this MOU is not that. It leaves major questions unanswered while handing Iran a signing bonus before a final deal is reached.
2/7 After nearly four months, his illegal war of choice has cost billions of dollars and not made the United States more secure. Fourteen American servicemembers have been killed, hundreds of troops have suffered life-changing injuries & we're paying higher prices.
🧵1/7 Trump just signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Iran. TLDR: it’s not a final deal, it doesn’t bring down costs, and it doesn’t make us safer.
Listened to Tenzin Nelung’s story as a Tibetan-American living in Providence. Alongside my colleagues on @houseforeign.bsky.social, I will continue to stand up to China, support human rights, and protect religious freedom for the Tibetan people.
Trump promised to Make America Affordable Again. Instead he slashed billions from "blue state” DOE energy projects, including three in Rhode Island. I pressed Secretary Wright in the Science, Space & Technology Committee to stop playing politics and restart the projects.
The Cape Verde Blue Sharks are making history at the World Cup. ⚽🇨🇻 Yet goalkeeper Vozinha’s mother cannot watch in person because of visa delays. This is bigger than a game. It’s a proud moment for Cape Verdeans in Rhode Island & worldwide. Secretary Rubio, do the right thing!
Visited Rhode Island’s only hygiene bank, Amenity Aid, which provides personal care essentials like soap, toothpaste & menstrual products to those in need. Grateful to their team and volunteers for helping ensure more can access the care items they need to live with dignity.
No child should sit hungry in the classroom. I’m supporting @repilhan.bsky.social's Universal School Meals Program Act to provide school meals to all students and reduce barriers, so every kid can learn and thrive. Feeding children should not be controversial.
Too many Americans have died from reversible overdoses. Shared with @535news.bsky.social how I’m working with Congressman McDowell on the bipartisan HOPE Act to expand access to naloxone in public spaces. Together, we can reduce the stigma, stop overdoses, and save lives.
Military families make countless sacrifices in service to our country. Grateful to meet with leaders from Blue Star Families to discuss how we can better support military families in Rhode Island and across the nation. I’ll keep fighting to ensure they have the resources and support they deserve.
Congratulations to the local Girl Scouts earning their Bronze, Silver, & Gold awards! Their service projects are protecting our environment, supporting Veterans, defending animals, & strengthening communities across RI. These young leaders are already helping to make our world a better place.
For 14 years, DACA has protected kids brought to the U.S. through no fault of their own and given them the chance to contribute to our country. However, the Trump Administration’s actions threaten Dreamers and immigrants. I’ll work to protect our values and everyone in our community.
Whether it's a plea for help from a supposed loved one or a text from an unknown number, Rhode Islanders are getting scammed, losing $200 million over the last few years. That’s why I co-founded the Stop Scams Caucus to address this growing problem and keep Americans safe.
Social Security is under greater threat because Trump chose billionaire tax giveaways over protecting earned benefits. If we don’t act, Americans could see their monthly Social Security benefits cut by roughly $500. I’ll keep working to protect and strengthen Social Security before it's too late.
Congratulations to Dakota S. Beckvold of Troop 5 for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout! Dakota's Eagle Project refurbished the foredeck and signal shack on the USS Kennedy in Fall River. I know Dakota will continue achieving great things!
Happy Birthday, U.S. Army! 🇺🇸 For 251 years, the United States Army has defended our nation and served with courage around the world. Thank you to the soldiers, veterans, and military families for their dedication and sacrifice to our country.
On Flag Day, we celebrate the Stars and Stripes and the values that unite us as Americans. Our motto, e pluribus unum, “out of many, one,” is a reminder that our differences can unite us, and even in divided times, we are one nation. 🇺🇸
Had the opportunity recently to celebrate the legacy building work of the 2026 Latina Leadership Institute graduates! The graduates of the 10-month leadership development program are paving the way for even more impact across RI through business, culture, public service, and community leadership.
