Decision makers are betting on Trump’s war with Iran & getting rich doing it – literally gambling with our troops' lives. Introduced the BETS OFF Act with Senator Murphy, Rep. Ansari & Rep. Casar to stop prediction markets from letting insiders wager on outcomes they control.
Knowledge of the ocean is key to Rhode Island’s future. I’m proud to introduce the bipartisan NOAA Global Ocean Monitoring and Observing Research Act to: 🌊Strengthen critical ocean research 🌩️Improve disaster forecasting accuracy 🌀Protect lives & property from extreme weather
Heavy wind and rain have caused power outages across our state. Report outages to RI Energy by texting OUTAGE to 743674 or calling 855-743-1101. Find tips on how to protect yourself when the powers out: www.ready.gov/power-outages Call 911 if you see a downed power line. Stay safe, RI.
From disaster relief to its renowned cadets, the RI Wing of the Civil Air Patrol volunteer their time and expertise for our safety. Celebrated their service and presented the Senior Member of the Year Award to 1st Lieutenant Rachel Consoli of the Pawtucket Composite Squadron.
This Women’s History Month, we celebrate trailblazing Rhode Islanders, like Paulina Wright Davis and Elizabeth Buffum Chace, who fought for women’s right to vote. I’m continuing that fight by pushing to close the gender pay gap and defend voting rights in Congress.
Trump’s war of choice is endangering our troops and raising everyday costs for Americans. The American people deserve a plan that will end this war and stop Trump’s cost of living hikes.
Visited the Segue Food Pantry in Pawtucket, where organizers are seeing more neighbors struggle to afford groceries under Trump’s policies. No one should worry about putting food on the table. I’ll keep fighting to lower costs and stop Rhode Islanders from going hungry.
BIG NEWS: Revolution Wind is powered up and delivering for Rhode Islanders! This is what happens when smart investment, union labor, and good policy come together — we can deliver reliable and affordable energy. Can’t wait to see this project come to full capacity.
Over 30,000 Rhode Island kids rely on a Boys and Girls Club! Great meeting with club leaders from across our state to support youth mental health and help kids reach their full potential!
Trump’s decision to shutter the EPA Office of Research and Development will make the American people sicker and poorer as polluters get richer.  Congresswoman Valerie Foushee and I are leading 116 House Democrats calling for the restoration of this independent, lifesaving research office.
Saddened by the attack on Reserve Officers’ Training Corps students at Old Dominion University. Terrorism can never win in America. We must stand together against violence and hate. Let’s keep the victims, their families, and the entire community in our thoughts.
My thoughts are with the congregants of Temple Israel in Michigan. Thank you to law enforcement for the swift response. I’m grateful no victims died. I’m fighting for more Nonprofit Security Grant Program funding so houses of worship can be safe. No faith community should live in fear of violence.
Met with RI leaders in nephrology, obstetrics, and gynecology. They made it clear: protecting funding for research, reproductive care, and health care is essential. Patients and providers are counting on us to defend the science and care that keep communities healthy.
Those closest to our communities know best what our neighbors need. That's the power of community project funding. I’m proud to have secured $311,000 in federal funds for the Nonviolence Institute to assist and advocate for victims of violent crime and make Rhode Island safer.
Each year, I’m proud to nominate outstanding #RI01 students to our U.S. service academies. Great meeting James, a Barrington high school senior headed to the U.S. Air Force Academy, to congratulate him on his hard work and commitment to service.
