The Meadowlark will allow seniors to stay in the community and age with dignity, and the Head Start center in the building will help kids and families and provide intergenerational connections.

This project will include housing and child care, and it’s a powerful example of what’s possible when local, state, and federal partners work together to build connection, dignity, and a better future.
Thank you to Beaverton Mayor Lacey Beaty, project partners, and community members for gathering to celebrate the vision for Meadowlark Place.
CATT is already making a difference for Oregonians by bringing resources and providers together into a central location.
With CATT’s “no wrong door” approach, people can access compassionate, effective care, and connect with services that help them through treatment and recovery.
I am inspired by Washington County’s commitment to addressing substance use disorder through the new Center for Addiction Triage and Treatment (CATT) at the Hillsboro Recovery Center.
The redeveloped waterfront connects people, provides outdoor recreation and entertainment, and incentivizes small businesses to locate next to the river. I'm already looking forward to coming back.
It was wonderful to visit St. Helens today and tour the Waterfront Redevelopment following the completion of phase one. This project has been a priority for the City for many years and it took persistence and hard work to get it done.
I will always stand with community groups like the Columbia Pacific Food Bank that are working to close these gaps and make it possible for Americans to get by and get ahead.
In Columbia County, one in five individuals is food insecure, including one in four children. We cannot let that number rise. Oregonians deserve economic stability, access to affordable healthcare, and lower grocery costs.
I visited the Columbia Pacific Food Bank to talk about the challenging and uncertain circumstances they face. As costs continue to rise and the Republicans in Congress cut programs like SNAP and Medicaid, people are scared and struggling.
I strongly oppose this inhumane and immoral law and I will continue to fight these cuts in every way I can.
The Big Bad Ugly Bill will lead to care interruptions, an increase in the number of uninsured Oregonians, and funding restrictions that slash services and reduce the number of available providers.
I met with leaders from Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center to discuss how the Trump administration’s cuts to Medicaid and attacks on immigrants are limiting access to health care and harming the patients they serve.
As the Trump administration threatens critical EPA funding, I am fighting to reverse the administration’s harmful attacks on the environment and science.
Clean-up has been complex and the river is still burdened with decades of industrial pollution. Restoring the river is an environmental and economic necessity, and I thank the local leaders who continue to do this important work.
Thanks to the Port of Portland for inviting Rep. Maxine Dexter and me on a boat tour to discuss the status of the Portland Harbor Superfund site. The EPA designated this portion of the Lower Willamette River as a Superfund site 20 years ago.
I strongly condemn the antisemitic vandalism at the Oregon Jewish Museum and other locations in Portland. A museum should be a place where we learn from history, not see it repeated.
As housing costs soar and federal support wavers, we must address the housing crisis and how it affects farmworkers. Affordable housing is infrastructure we need in Oregon and across the country.
I had the privilege of speaking at the NeighborWorks Rural Convening with the Farmworker Housing Conference co-hosted by CASA of Oregon and the Office of Rural & Farmworker Housing.
