Your Social Security data belongs to YOU — not DOGE, not political appointees, not Elon Musk. SCOTUS greenlit access but House Democrats are fighting back with the Protecting Americans’ Social Security Data Act to safeguard your privacy and hold violators accountable.
Tune in to today’s Dem Daily Download where we learn more about how Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill will affect our Michigan neighbors! ⬇️
Big win in committee! @ushousefsc.bsky.social passed my bill to help small and rural financial institutions team up with big banks for training, tools, and support to get Financial Agent to Treasury status—so they can more effectively serve their communities.
Rep. McIver did her job. Period. This political stunt won’t silence her or stop Congress from doing its job. It’s another example of an abuse of power from the Trump Administration that is meant to intimidate. It won’t work.

Housing is a human right. That’s why Rep. Shontel Brown and I introduced a resolution calling for urgent federal action to expand affordable housing, strengthen rental assistance, and protect tenants.
Because every family deserves a safe, affordable place to call home.
Each June, I wear orange to honor survivors, remember lives lost, and stand with those working to end gun violence. Thank you, @mcbath.house.gov, for your courageous leadership. We must keep fighting to end this national epidemic. #WearOrange

Trump’s one, big ugly bill will hurt every American — Republican or Democrat. These aren’t just numbers, these are people’s lives. On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @reptroycarter.bsky.social breaks down how it will hurt Louisiana and all Americans.
Wishing a blessed Eid al-Adha to all who celebrate. May this sacred time bring peace, reflection, and renewed hope.
Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill means higher payments, fewer protections, and more debt traps for student loan borrowers. The average borrower would pay ~ $200 more each month—all to fund billionaire tax breaks. College just got less affordable thanks to Trump and House Republicans.
📢 Partnering for Prosperity! I just reintroduced a bill to strengthen minority-owned and rural banks nationwide. It will help them better serve their communities and build economic inclusion. Learn more about the legislation here: beatty.house.gov/media-center...
Today, I met with Ohio REALTORS to discuss legislation that will ensure more hardworking Ohioan families have access to safe, affordable housing. With prices on the rise and dwindling supply, we need more — not less — tools in our toolbox to solve the nation's housing crisis.
I was delighted to serve as Honorary Host Committee Co-Chair of the 36th Financial Services Conference, hosted by the National Association of Securities Professionals.
Thank you, NASP for working to expand opportunities for diverse financial services professionals!
This year, Republicans have accelerated attacks against the LGBTQI+ community.
As a member of the Equality Caucus, I'm proud to be part of the fight against bigotry.
Pride is a reminder that love is love, and equality is for everyone.
Last week at a local food pantry, I heard the same concerns echoed by anti-hunger advocates. That’s why House Democrats launched the Democratic Daily Download—to break down what’s really happening in Washington and how we’re fighting back.
Trump calls it “beautiful”—but his budget is brutal.
💔 Over 400,000 Ohioans could lose health care.
🥣 Food aid slashed for families, seniors & vets.
💸 Billionaires win. Everyone else loses.
I'll keep fighting back—because Ohio deserves better.
Honoring this sacred time of reflection, renewal, and revelation. May we all draw strength from the enduring power of faith, resilience, and community.

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @repbeatty.bsky.social breaks down Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill — a nightmare ripping food and care from millions. House Republicans pushed it through while you were sleeping because they don’t want you to know what’s in it.
Meet Dr. Kathy D. Wright: a champion for heart health in caregivers, a dedicated nurse, and a stress management researcher! ❤️🩺

🚨WATCH: I joined Doug Petcash to talk about how the Republicans’ so-called “One Big Ugly Bill” would devastate health care for Ohioans. They say Medicaid’s untouched—but don’t be fooled. Their budget means the largest Medicaid cut in history.
