I toured the Mid-Ohio Food Collective’s Eastland Prosperity Center. Opening this fall, this new hub will serve 100K people each year with free fresh food, SNAP enrollment, health care and more at a time when so much is less affordable. Ohio families deserve support that meets the moment.
Ramadan Mubarak! 🌙 As the holy month begins, I wish our Muslim community a time of peace and reflection. Ramadan reminds us of our shared commitment to justice, compassion, and human dignity. May this month bring blessings to you and your loved ones.
I joined Rep. Sanford Bishop and community leaders in Georgia as keynote speaker for the 41st Annual Black History Month Observance Breakfast. Embracing the theme “Your Voice Matters,” I highlighted the importance of voting and fully participating in our democracy now more than ever.
So proud of these Ohio Olympians taking the world stage by storm. From historic firsts to finals appearances and gold medal moments, they’re showing the grit and excellence that define the Buckeye State. 🇺🇸❄️
As Lunar New Year begins, I’m mindful that this is a moment of both reflection and renewal for many. Wishing all who celebrate peace, prosperity, and renewed hope for the year ahead.
Housing discrimination is real. Rolling back Fair Housing Act anti-discrimination tools is wrong. Reps. Shontel Brown, Marcy Kaptur, Greg Landsman, and I are calling on HUD to reverse course. We should expand access to homeownership, not lock families out. Read more: https://bit.ly/3MdME4A
My prayers are with my colleague Rep. Jonathan Jackson, Jesse Jackson Jr. and the entire Jackson family as we mourn the passing of Rev. Jesse Jackson. His legacy lives on in every fight for justice. Please see my full statement in the link. May he rest in power: https://bit.ly/4tGKfA0
Happy Valentine’s Day, Ohio. In a world where too many voices profit from keeping us divided, let today be a reminder that love, compassion, and empathy are stronger than anything meant to pull us apart.
Please see the following statement in response to recently released Department of Justice documents concerning Jeffrey Epstein and Les Wexner.
I am deeply honored to have received the 2026 Distinguished Community Health Center Advocate Award from the National Association of Community Health Centers. Advocating for equitable health care is work that I carry with purpose every day, on behalf of hardworking Ohioans and all Americans.
Heart disease is the #1 killer of women in America, yet too many women lack access to lifesaving screenings. That's why, I reintroduced the Women’s Heart Health Expansion Act, investing $250 million in prevention efforts for low income women. 🔗Read more here: https://bit.ly/3M3wCdu
The CBC stands united against the Trump administration's coordinated attack on Black America. We won't stand for it and we're fighting. 🔗Watch more here: https://bit.ly/4atU1wQ
I stood united with my CBC colleagues at our Black History Month press conference, affirming that Black history is American history and sharing insights from our roundtable on how the Trump economy is impacting Black America. Click here for my full remarks: https://bit.ly/4atU1wQ
This week, I co-led a CBC Special Order Hour on Black history in the military. Since our nation's founding, Black Americans have answered the call to serve, even without the freedoms they were asked to defend. I am thankful to have celebrated the brave service members that defend our country.
Today, during our FSC hearing, Dr. Darrick Hamilton testified about how hardworking people are being priced out of the American Dream due to rising housing costs. Dr. Hamilton’s expert feedback will help us continue the fight for fair housing and economic equity.
Overjoyed to announce the passage of my five bills that make housing more affordable. As families face mounting economic pressures, accelerating fair housing has been at the forefront of my agenda. This win brings us closer to resolving America's housing crisis. 🔗 Read more: https://bit.ly/4twms5W
Please see my comment on the disturbing video released by Donald Trump. It raises the question: why does he need a distraction right now?
Today I’m proud to #GoRedForWomen to spotlight women’s cardiovascular health. As a stroke survivor and Co-Chair of the Congressional Heart and Stroke Coalition, advocating for women’s heart health is deeply personal work. Together, let's make a commitment to adopt a heart healthy lifestyle. ❤️
Proud to announce $7.9 million in funding that invests in critical infrastructure, transportation, and housing for Columbus!
These dollars will go toward creating and maintaining projects that keep Ohio beautiful, functional, and safe. 🔗Learn more here: https://bit.ly/4khQ0jo
