Federal workers are showing up every day to keep America running — even without a paycheck. They’re doing their jobs. It’s time for Speaker Johnson and President Trump to do theirs. Let’s reopen the government, pay our workers, and lower health care costs for the American people.
Mike Johnson doesn’t have a plan to end this shutdown.  He doesn’t actually care about what’s happening to American families.  He only answers to one person: Donald Trump.  Trump can end this shutdown today by calling up Mike Johnson and instructing him to cut a deal.
I proudly stood with TSA agents and air traffic controllers at Sacramento Int’l Airport. These essential workers continue to show up every day to keep the traveling public safe, even as they go without pay. They're doing their jobs. It's time for President Trump and Speaker Johnson to do theirs.
Wishing a safe, healthy, and joyful Diwali to everyone celebrating in Sacramento County and around the world. Today, we celebrate the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and the power of knowledge and kindness as we work together to build a better world.
No one wins a government shutdown. It’s the American people who lose. Speaker Johnson needs to call us back to D.C. to negotiate a deal that protects affordable health care and reopens the government to serve the American people.

Speaker Johnson must bring us back to DC and negotiate a deal that reopens the government and extends these vital subsidies to protect access to affordable health care.
Covered California's renewal season begins tomorrow. My constituents are already receiving notices that their monthly premiums will skyrocket if Congress fails to extend Affordable Care Act subsidies by the end of the year. We cannot wait to act.
Under the leadership of my friend, Chairman Jesus Tarango — a Sacramento native — the tribe continues to preserve its heritage, invest in our local economy, and serve as a vital partner in our broader community.
On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we recognize the rich history, culture, and contributions of Native peoples in Sacramento County and across our nation. Sacramento County is the proud home of Wilton Rancheria, our county’s only federally recognized tribe.
I am deeply relieved that a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas has been reached, bringing an end to two years of horrific violence, loss, and trauma. Read my full statement.
I am deeply relieved that a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas has been reached, bringing an end to two years of horrific violence, loss, and trauma.

The agreement must now be swiftly implemented to reunite Israeli hostages with their families and scale up the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza, who have endured immense suffering throughout the war.

This moment is a testament to the power of diplomacy and offers a critical opportunity to build a future where both Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace and dignity.
I rarely agree with Marjorie Taylor Greene — but she’s right on this. If ACA subsidies expire, health care costs will skyrocket and millions will be priced out of coverage. We have the power to fix this. Let’s make a deal.
Marjorie Taylor Greene on CNN (!): "I'm getting phone calls from people that are saying if the ACA tax credits expire, they aren't gonna be able to have health insurance. They're going to have to drop it."
We are now in Day 8 of the government shutdown. Our troops will miss a paycheck if we don't reopen by Oct 13th. Speaker Johnson must bring lawmakers back to negotiate a bipartisan agreement to reopen the government, protect affordable health care, & ensure our troops get paid on time.
Two years ago today, Hamas terrorists carried out a brutal and unconscionable attack on Israel, murdering nearly 1,200 innocent people — including 46 Americans — and taking hundreds hostage. Read my full statement marking today's solemn anniversary.
We cannot let this shutdown continue. It is time for Speaker Johnson to bring Congress back to protect affordable health care for more than 20 million Americans and reopen the government to serve the American people.
