We are a nation of immigrants, and I stand with everyone peacefully standing up for our immigrant neighbors and defending our values from the Trump Administration's bigotry, nativism, and racism.

Trump's use of the military in LA is illegal—he said so himself. He wants violence and escalation, and doesn't care who gets hurt. He loves to emulate authoritarians, and the way he's doing that now is very dangerous. Everyone who cares about the rule of law should oppose it.

The federal government is taking over the California National Guard and deploying 2,000 soldiers in Los Angeles — not because there is a shortage of law enforcement, but because they want a spectacle.
Don't give them one.
Never use violence. Speak out peacefully.

We were at the federal detention center in downtown LA. They deployed some type of chemical irritant that made people cough and we had to mask. The people here were mainly attorneys, family of those being detained, and two members of Congress. @NormaJTorres
The Trump Administration’s decision to rescind this guidance, which helps save pregnant women’s lives, will only deny women of critical health care and put their lives at needless risk.
We will continue to fight to protect essential health care.

The Trump Administration always had the power to bring Kilmar Abrego back. They were always lying about this, all of it was lies.

They chose to disobey court orders because they are authoritarians who regard the Constitution as an inconvenience.
We must pass our NO BAN Act to make clear that neither racism nor religious intolerance are acceptable barriers to lawful immigration.
Our immigration system should not be hijacked by hatred and racism, and our bill would stop this from happening.

I #WearOrange on Gun Violence Awareness Day to draw attention to this uniquely American crisis that claims lives every single day.
Thoughts and prayers are not enough – we need the political will to enact policy change that will end gun violence and save American lives.

16 million Americans losing health coverage.
The biggest cut to Medicaid in history.
Higher health, energy, and housing costs.
Tax cuts for billionaires, tax hikes for working people.
$3 trillion added to the national debt.
The Republican bill is a “disgusting abomination.”
Not content with the biggest cut to Medicaid in its history, Republicans are now looking to fund tax breaks for billionaires by cutting Medicare.

This policy will separate families, including many I represent. And with Trump’s assault on asylum and refugees, it will intentionally put people at deadly risk.
The true rationale isn’t security, it’s racism. Our NO BAN Act, led by @chu.house.gov, would stop it.
From his first Muslim Ban, Trump’s travel bans have always betrayed of the ideals and values that inspired America’s Founders.
Trump’s use of prejudice and bigotry to bar people from entering the U.S. does not make us safer, it just divides us and weakens our global leadership.

NEW FROM CBO: 16 MILLION people will lose their health care because of House Republicans.
That’s the equivalent of stripping the entire populations of Pennsylvania and Mississippi of their health care.
Just because Republicans aren't reading their own bill, doesn't mean we aren't. 🧵

CBO now estimates that combination of Trump's budget bill + other parts of the GOP health agenda (e.g. allowing enhanced ACA tax credits to expire as scheduled) will increase # of uninsured people by 16 million.
This is a backdoor Obamacare repeal by any other name

Congressional Budget Office score: Republican bill + Republican attacks on the Affordable Care Act will result in **16 million** Americans losing health coverage

All this to cut taxes for billionaires.

The GOP Tax Scam is a disgusting abomination.
Truer words have never been spoken.
Children around the world are dying because Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and Marco Rubio illegally froze programs that distribute lifesaving aid (and saved us money). Marco Rubio
lied about this, but Nick Kristof has pictures and stories.

Honored to join this roundtable on why hardworking Virginia families can’t afford to lose the Medicaid coverage that millions rely on. The Senate must vote down this harmful budget that will cut Medicaid funding.
Grateful to SEIU Virginia for bringing our voices together!

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
