Earlier this week I joined @waysmeanscmte.bsky.social launching an investigation into Elon Musk's corrupt takeover of Treasury systems and access to Americans' private information. Happily, a federal court just halted "DOGE" access at Treasury. More: democrats-waysandmeans.house.gov/media-center...

If you or a loved one has cancer or Alzheimer's, or are in clinical trials for these or other diseases, you should know the Musk-Trump shutdown of medical research funding is a major threat to our ability to find cures.
We are shouting this out with one voice: beyer.house.gov/news/documen...
Remember as you see news of bird flu cases spreading- the Musk-Trump Administration is weakening our scientific and medical agencies, and preventing them from responding
On Monday I led Dems in Congress to shine a light on Elon's illegal, unconstitutional, immoral, and corrupt destruction of USAID. Last night a federal judge just issued an order temporarily halting Musk's attacks on USAID workers. Here are my remarks Monday at USAID, ICYMI:

Bravo to @beyer.house.gov & @repdelbene.bsky.social for reestablishing the #Egypt Human Rights Caucus. 👏
Advancing human rights in Egypt is critical for the US-Egypt relationship.

CFPB saves billions for American consumers.
It shuts down scams and predatory fees, and is cracking down on unfair medical debt collection.
But greedy special interests want more money so their corrupt friend Elon Musk is trying to shut down CFPB.
Unacceptable.

All who respect the rule of law and defend the Constitution should oppose the authoritarian assault by this White House under Elon Musk on federal agencies established and funded by Congress.
I stand with the USAID workers, who show the best America has to offer to people all over the world. 6/6
The American people will not benefit if USAID is permanently dismantled, they will lose.
America will lose friends all over the world, and we will create enemies.
We will lose influence with nations that will increasingly turn to adversaries, and we will lose the trust of our friends. 5/
What is happening at USAID is an unmitigated disaster for the country and the world.
It is already resulting in the spread of disease, starvation, and deaths from preventable causes.
Sadly we know that many of those who die if USAID is not restored will be children. 4/
Some are family members afraid for USAID workers posted abroad who were cut off from their work communication and financial systems while they were still overseas.
Some are people with contracts Musk is refusing to pay, looking at large-scale layoffs of American employees. 3/
Over the past week, I have heard from hundreds of constituents affected by the assault on USAID.
Some are tearful employees facing job loss for the ‘crime’ of doing important work their country asked them to do. 2/
I welcome a judicial order to halt the Musk Administration’s abuse of USAID’s workforce even temporarily.
The court should uphold the law and put a full and permanent stop to the illegal, unconstitutional, immoral, and corrupt destruction of USAID. 1/

NEWS: A federal judge issued a sweeping overnight block on Musk's DOGE team from accessing Treasury's payment system, warning of possible hacks or compromises. His order limits access only to officials w security clearances/training/need-to-know.

Just incredible incompetence - again - from Elon Musk, who staffed his team with leakers and racists and gave them access to sensitive government data and every American's personal information.
It's painfully obvious they did zero vetting on these people.
