Met with my Women’s Advisory Council to discuss the harmful impact Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill will have on our communities and his administration’s ICE raids that are spreading fear in #CA44 and throughout Southern California.
And then — to top it all off — he referred to Senator Alex Padilla as “Jose Padilla.”
They served in the same chamber. He knows his name. This wasn’t a slip — it was disrespectful.
This isn’t about law and order. It’s about fear, division, and deflection.
❌ He accused Gov. Newsom and Mayor Bass of “endangering officers’ lives.”
👉🏽 What they’ve actually done is stand up for accountability, transparency, and the safety of all Californians.
❌ He said ICE is prioritizing their limited resources on going after criminals.
👉🏽 In fact, arrests of immigrants with no criminal convictions are up over 800% since January.
❌ He claimed the situation in LA was out of control, forcing Trump to send in the National Guard.
👉🏽 In reality, local law enforcement had things under control - Trump escalated the situation when he deployed federal troops.
Let’s set the record straight on J.D. Vance’s press conference in Los Angeles:
Vice President Vance just stood at a podium and lied — again.

Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill will force hundreds of rural hospitals to close. On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @adams.house.gov breaks down this dangerous bill and how Democrats are fighting to stop it.
The #TrumpTax tariffs will not save American jobs or the economy — it’s a wrecking ball to both.
The Trump admin is INCREASING costs for American families.
The Port of Los Angeles is at only 70% capacity as 1 in 5 scheduled ships have cancelled — meaning less work & less money in the paychecks of thousands of longshore workers, truckers, and other port workers.

@HouseDemocrats.bsky.social will continue to fight to save our hospitals and protect access to affordable health care for working Americans.
Hospitals like Torrance Memorial are essential in providing health care to our communities.
Republicans’ Big, Ugly Bill will hurt hospitals —forcing some to close or reduce services. It will rip away healthcare from millions so more Americans will end up in the emergency room—that will hurt us all.
Today, we honor freedom and the legacy of emancipation—while continuing the fight for equality.
Happy Juneteenth!

Donald Trump and Republicans are trying to steal food from hungry people to give huge tax breaks to billionaires.
@tokuda.house.gov shows just how difficult it is for thousands of Hawaiians – and millions more across the country – who rely on $6 a day from SNAP to feed their 'ohana (families).

The same day Mayor Bass lifts the curfew — Trump sends 2,000 more troops into LA.
Local officials have the situation under control. He’s not responding to a threat. He’s escalating to show off his power.

Republicans in Congress want to take health care from Americans and close hospitals.
Senate Republicans made the largest health care cuts in history WORSE by making it even harder for states to cover health care costs for those covered under Medicaid expansion.
