We have a moral responsibility to make sure kids are fed. Hungry kids struggle in school, have health problems, and are more likely to struggle with psychological and behavioral health issues. SNAP benefits are critical to so many families.

Mohsen Mahdawi's release shows us what we can do when we come together and fight for justice. Mohsen should have never been detained in the first place. We won’t let the Trump Administration continue to kidnap people off our streets. The fight doesn’t end here.

Mohsen's freedom is fantastic news! Thanks to all the electeds who stepped up, all the grassroots activists who kept up the pressure and Mohsen himself for leading this fight!
Trump is targeting immigrants & citizens alike. We must fight to protect our due process rights!
Last night we rallied to demand Mohsen Mahdawi be freed and today he is released on bail.
I shared his words and they stand true for every person who is or will be targeted by the cruel Trump administration, despite this country's promise of free speech and opportunity for all.
My staff has confirmed with Mohsen's team that he has been released on bail. So relieved. This is a huge win but the fight is far from over. It’s going to take all of us to demand due process for everyone.
Rally for Mohsen Mahdawi starts shortly!
Join us at 5:30 here at the State Department to demand that Marco Rubio upholds due process.
We are once again introducing the Equality Act to codify basic protections and freedoms for my community.
It sends a simple message that no American can be denied entry, service, or opportunity because of who we are or who we love. We're not backing down.
Pass the Equality Act.
As a Vermonter this is a sad reality to watch. We are deeply interconnected with Canada, and Trump has profoundly damaged our relationship for no other reason than to boost his ego and create chaos. Shameful.
Here's the lineup for tonight!
WHERE:
Harry S Truman Building
2201 C St NW
*On the corner of C and 22nd*
See you at 5:30!
Rally tomorrow at the State Department! Marco Rubio must hear our voices demanding that Mohsen Mahdawi is released immediately.
Proud to protest with @vanhollen.senate.gov, @raskin.house.gov, @jayapal.house.gov, @frost.house.gov, @pressley.house.gov, and more of my powerhouse colleagues.

Join us tomorrow to send a clear message to the Trump Admin: Our rights are not up for grabs. www.mobilize.us/wfpower/even...
Here’s what I’m hearing from constituents about how Democrats should be showing up in this moment. More to come.👂
Bending the knee to an authoritarian regime might be the easier thing to do in the short run but it is wrong and cowardly. These are some of the most powerful law firms in the country. Do better.
I'm leading a peaceful rally to demand Mohsen Mahdawi’s immediate release ahead of his Wednesday hearing.
68 House Democrats demanded answers from Rubio and Noem about his arrest. No response. Time for the people to make our voices heard.
Join us:
25 years ago today, Vermont became the first state to legalize civil unions for my community. Although gay marriage wasn't recognized until 2009, this was a critical victory in our struggle for equality. Our fight continues today to protect the rights of everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community.
Trump’s latest attack on our checks and balances: arresting judges. This is how our democracy is dismantled. We have to keep our eyes on the ways in which this administration is trying to consolidate power.
Putting the "good" in goodbye! You will NOT be missed! 👋👋👋

Many of these forces are still with us today. It is up to each one of us to stand up for people being targeted, each time you have an opportunity. There is no one coming to save us from authoritarianism. WE are the ones who must act. ALL of us.
