Vermont farmers are footing the bill for Trump's reckless war in Iran.

Fuel and fertilizer costs are surging right amid planting season, hitting family farms that are already stretched thin. This needs to end.

Vermont farmers face increased fuel prices due to war in Iran
Vermont’s agricultural industry is feeling the pinch in rising fuel costs due to the war in Iran and subsequent blockade on ships carrying fuel supplies through the Strait of Hormuz.
Each year, it’s such a joy to lead our Congressional Art Competition, a beloved Vermont tradition. Congratulations to Dashiell Moyse from Brattleboro for receiving this year’s Grand Prize. I can’t wait to see this incredible piece in the Capitol Building!
The admin of Donald Trump - who decorates everything he owns with gold - wants to slash critical assistance for 400,000 Americans with disabilities whose families are on SNAP.   These people deserve our help - not to be callously punished by their government.
The Trump Administration Aims to Penalize Disabled Adults Who Live With Their Families

A rule change pushed by White House officials would slash benefits or end support for as many as 400,000 Supplemental Security Income recipients with Down syndrome, dementia and other disabilities whose parents or relatives receive SNAP benefits.
I know some of the news has been discouraging lately, especially when it comes to voting rights and our democracy. We’ve got to keep our eyes on the prize and do all we can to make sure everyone’s voice is represented.
I saw the report that RFK Jr. looked into banning SSRIs. Perhaps if he had any medical expertise, he’d know that these medications are lifesaving for so many Americans. Yet again, this is the Trump administration trying to insert itself between patients and their doctors. I’m not having any of it.
It’s an honor to help direct federal resources to our local communities for projects like this one. Now, the Pownal Valley Fire Department will have a new firehouse that’ll match the quality of work their firefighters are already known for.
I spent this week talking to Vermonters all over our state. One thing kept coming up over and over: the cost of living. The GOP’s attempts to distract Americans from it aren’t working. This needs to be at the top of our agenda when Congress comes back to DC.
I’ll be back in DC this week with the House in session, but my team in Vermont is always ready to help with constituent casework. If you’re a Vermonter and having an issue with a federal agency or its services, please call (802) 652-2450 or go to balint.house.gov to get in touch!

Clearly this admin doesn’t want you to know about how their Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick, is tied to Jeffrey Epstein. I’m glad the House Oversight Committee picked up on that thread this week. He needs to go.
Almost 70 million Americans.   I have legislation that would increase the mental and behavioral health workforce pipeline to address shortages and provide greater payment for critical health serviced.   There's no time to waste.
More than 1 in 5 Americans live with a mental health condition. That’s nearly 70 million people.

We can and must ensure they have the resources they need.
They’re trying to force their bigoted political ideology onto another college campus. This time, my alma mater. Trans people existed long before the Trump admin was in office and they’re going to exist long after. Leave these students alone and focus on bringing down people’s everyday costs.
I wanted to talk to you today about vitamin K shots. Especially when it comes to new parents, there’s so much disinformation and misinformation going around. But this shot has proven to be safe and effective. It could save your baby’s life and spare you a lifetime of heartache.
As Trump and Republicans in Congress cut taxes for the ultra-rich and are now trying to take $1 BILLION of taxpayer money for this ballroom, Vermonters are seeing an incredibly high cost of living.   Where’s all the money in Trump’s budget for Vermonters?
