President Trump’s tariff taxes are already causing economic pain in communities across #MO05, leading to higher prices for consumers and job losses for Missouri workers. I’ll keep fighting to combat this chaos and recklessness coming from the White House. www.kansascity.com/news/local/a...
House Republicans just passed a bill that takes from the poor to give to the wealthy, while saddling our children and grandchildren with more unnecessary debt. It’s the same trickle-down economics that has failed working class families for decades, only on steroids.
While you were sleeping, Republicans passed a fiscally irresponsible bill that guarantees a massive redistribution of wealth from the poorest families to the wealthiest 1%, while exploding our national deficit by more than $3 trillion. I voted no. cleaver.house.gov/media-center...
My heart goes out to the family and friends of Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky as they face this horrific and traumatic loss. May they rest in peace and may their memories be a blessing.
The murder of two Israeli embassy staffers, including one American, outside the Capital Jewish Museum is horrifying, intolerable, and worthy of universal condemnation in the strongest possible terms. Antisemitism must be given no quarter in America—and we all must stand up to hate in all forms.
BREAKING: Two staff members of the Israeli embassy who were shot and killed Wednesday evening in Washington have been identified as Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim by the Israel's foreign minister.
As President Trump’s tariffs raise costs on everyday goods, local food banks are already struggling to keep food on the shelves. It won’t help that Republicans are trying to cut $300 billion from food assistance programs to pay for more tax cuts for billionaires. www.kmbc.com/article/harv...
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office confirms that the Republican budget betrayal takes from the poorest families across the country to line the pockets of billionaires like Elon Musk and Donald Trump. www.politico.com/news/2025/05...
Enabled by President Trump & the GOP, the richest man in the world is gutting the Social Security Administration & undermining essential services that seniors rely on to obtain their earned benefits. This isn’t about waste or fraud—it’s about funding cuts to pay for more tax cuts for billionaires.
Many of the major changes Elon Musk’s U.S. DOGE Service pushed at Social Security have been abandoned or are being reversed after proving ineffective, while others are yielding unintended consequences and badly damaging customer service and satisfaction.
More than 90,000 Missourians could lose healthcare if the Republican budget betrayal is passed into law—all so billionaires can get another handout. @housedemocrats.bsky.social will continue fighting to protect the healthcare of working class families. missouriindependent.com/briefs/propo...
This despicable politicization of the law is yet another page out of the authoritarian playbook. President Trump and MAGA Republicans think they can intimidate lawmakers from upholding their lawful oversight duties by filing baseless charges. It won’t work. I stand with @replamonica.bsky.social.
BREAKING: U.S. Justice Dept. says charges have been filed against a New Jersey congresswoman, alleging she assaulted law enforcement at a Newark ICE detention center.
Shirley Chisholm was a champion of working class families in every community nationwide. Thankful to @naturbanleague.bsky.social for awarding me their 2025 Shirley Chisholm Award for Housing. Together, we’ll keep working to ensure every American has a safe, stable, & affordable place to call home!
